Change a ford 1985 to a two barrel .what is the diagram order

You shouldn't have a 4 barrel in an 85 you have a 2.8 or a 2.0 neighter came with 1 .
Unless some changed it witch means the intake maniflod as well but I dought it .
The corrct carburator is a motorcraft 2150 2V witch is vary rebuildable 30 bucks for the kit I have done mine 4 or 5 times over the last 25 years or so runs like new everytime

How to rebuild a 1987 plymouth gran fury 2 barrel carburetor

First, you will need to get a rebuild kit for it. This contains gaskets and other bits that wear and need replacing on occasion. There will be a number on a tag or the carb body that the parts store will need to get the right kit. There's no point in trying to reuse the old gaskets, if you are going to try that, then don't waste your time rebuilding.

The kit will contain a sheet of paper whjich will give you an exploded diagram of all the parts in your carburator and where they belong. there will also be information on various settings for idle, choke, etc. Don't lose these sheets.

When you start to disassemble the carb, keep the old gaskets to compare with new ones. When you remove the idle screws, turn them in until they stop. Be gentle when you do this and count the number of turns. Write that number down, so when you put it back together you know where the idle setting is supposed to be. There will be extra gaskets in the kit and they will all be different. You must replace with exactly the same as what you took off. Also pay very close attention the how the choke linkage comes apart. It will go together more than 1 way so you can get it wrong. This will make the car act up or maybe not even start.

Soak the carb in a good quality cleaner and make sure everything is clean and all the lines are open before you start to reassemble it.Use your diagrams to make sure you put everthing back where it belongs, replacing with new parts when possible. Be very careful with the float measurement, it must be exact, close won't work.

This is going to take you several hours, so don't be in a rush.

Where is the rich/lean Carburetor adjustment for a stock 1977 F-150 2 bbl on a 400 cu. inch engine?

Looking at the front of the carburator, at the base of the carburator you will see 2 screws with a spring on each. 1 on one side, 1 one the other.

Need to know locations of springs on a Mastercraft D6ME 2 barrel Carburator. This carburator is on my 1977 Ford F250 4x4.

Looked through 1979 Motor Manual (similar to Chilton's at that time) and although it doesn't show that exact model all it shows is what I remember, which was a spring going from carb linkage to manifold, which was for tension on throttle return, and gas pedal. The other which would be for choke was simply the thermostatic coil and housing that attached at end of rod that choke was attached to on side of carburetor. When cold, it would retract the coil inside the housing, which in turn would rotate and close choke for cold starts, and as engine warmed up, it would expand and rotate opposite direction and pull choke off. Could this be what your looking for?

Could some one tell us how the excelerator pump linkage on the float bowl side hooks up to the engine, that's a carburator for a 1968 chevy step van. the carburator is a rochester monjet # 7040021

Looking at an exploded view of your carburator in my Chilton book it would appear to me that the accelerator pump hooks to the throttle linkage on the opposite side from the throttle cable. On that end it shows a small plate that screws into the throttle shaft. This plate has 2 links attached to it, one of which should line up with a hole in the side of the main body. You will probably have to push the pump down by hand to line up the hole in the bottom of the pump arm with the hole in the body and attach the linkage.
There is no specific info in the book regarding this, just the diagram. Hope this helps.

How do I identify the make of my 2-barrel carb -

The OEM carb on this model was Motorcraft, and you can get the rebuild kit from Ford or you can look up the model number either in Chilton's manual for that car, or maybe find another (kinda hard nowadays) carb in a junkyard and maybe it still has the tag. You can also research the specs for that motor on a web page of Ford or 2nd party auto parts dealers. I'd bet most mechanics over 40 years old could start you off in the right direction, too.

I mean the ignition switch and lock barrel, the one where you put the key inside. Buy the Haynes manual and check 'finding a short circuit' and 'Removal - ignition switch and lock barrel' under 'body electrical system. In the manual it will show step by step with pictures what to do.
