I have a 1995 Toyota camry with 144,000 miles on it. I don't know what is wrong with the transmission, but it will not shift, and i can't go faster than 35mph. The check engine light is not on

I think either the throttle position sensor on the throttle body or the shift valve in the transmission has a fault. It could also be a failure of the direct clutch in the trans.
The check engine light will not notify you of a trans problem. Instead the O/D Off light blinks. This light is not normally on, so you should check to see if the globe is OK by looking for it when turning on the ignition and starting the engine, and then by turning the O/D on and off at the gear shift lever. If you never see the light, the globe has failed.

It does sound as though you need an opinion from a trans specialist, but get 3 different ones, because some of them tell porkies.

Toyota wagon with automatic transmission drops out of drive. Shifting to neutral and back to drive fixes the problem but I feel really scared of the unpredictability of this.

no adjusting the cable is hard because it is so percice. If your check engine light is on read the codes and this will tell you what is wrong. a part store will read the codes for u for free

Reverse lights do not work, checked all fuses and the bulbs

Hi sorry to hear you're having problems

Most likely you have lost the connection at the transmission. Please when you do your next oil change just ask the technician to check and be sure the wires are on and tight at the reverse light switch.

Best of it please let me know if this helps.

My OEM wheels are too small want to give my 95 Camry a Lift

my car has 15" rims, it works nicely, hmmm I'd say 16" rims are probly about as high as you could go without needing lower profile tires and keeping the car's performance...

Struggling up mountains

you could have accidentally overflowed the transmission fluid. That would cause problems

1995 toyota camry

You might want to send the transmission to flush and replace the ATF (Atomatic Transmission Fluid) and run it for a while. If it keeps the same behavior, consider replacing the clutches, as it is now a gear slipping fault, and sooner or later, you'll end up rideless. Hope this will help you.
