Noise maniford

what kind of noise? If it sounds like an exhaust leak. the 3400 motor has an issue with the manifold bolts breaking. Sometimes they get trapped in the cover and rattle. Does the noise get better as the car gets warmer? if so you need to replace some manifold bolts

How to fix oil leaks in chevy ss impala 1996

Instructions

1. Removal

Unscrew the bolt that holds the negative connection to the Impala's battery. Set this bolt aside for later use.

Remove the engine cover to access the intake manifold and manifold gasket. Disconnect the throttle body inlet duct from the engine.

Twist off the radiator cap to allow draining of the coolant to flow more smoothly. Place an empty container beneath the radiator's drain plug, and remove this plug. Allow all of the engine coolant to drain into the empty container. Replace the drain plug once you are finished.

Tag all of the electrical wiring and hoses before removing so that reconnection is precise to factory settings. Remove these parts, individually, from the intake manifold.

Loosen the bolts that hold the intake manifold to the Impala's engine block. Lift the intake manifold from the block once all bolts have been completely removed.

Use the flat-head screwdriver to pry the old intake manifold gasket from the engine block. Discard this part once you have removed it.

Clean the engine block thoroughly with the engine degreaser and linen cloth. If necessary, use a gasket scraper to remove excess buildup and grime.

2. Installation

  • Coat the top and bottom of the new intake manifold gasket with a chemical sealer so that it bonds to the engine block securely. Position this new manifold gasket so that it lines up perfectly with the cylinder ports of the Impala's engine block.

Place the old intake manifold on top of the newly-installed manifold gasket until it aligns with all of the holes of the cylinder flanges and manifold gasket.

Attach all of the bolts with your hand to the manifold. Once all bolts have been positioned, use a torque wrench and apply 15 foot-pounds of pressure to the bolts to secure the manifold into place.

Reconnect all of the necessary hoses and electrical wiring to the intake. Pour the engine coolant back into the radiator.

Reattach the engine cover on top of the intake manifold and engine block. Start the Impala's engine and check for any leaks around the new intake manifold gasket.

1999 nissan altima intake maniford gasket replacement

Somewhat involved, and specific to each engine and car. I suggest you buy a repair manual at a parts store (Haynes' manuals are pretty good-$26.00). Or you could go to autozone.com and register there, giving your car and year and model. They have some free repair procedures, specific to your model, that might help you.

I have a 2000 ford expedition 5.4L and I just replaced my intake manifold and am having a lean code in bank one. I've checked the MAF sensor and vacuum lines and there good. do you know what else could...

You had the intake manifold gaskets replaced ,causing
a vacuum leak & thus a lean condition ?

Have the front (2) O2 Sensors been replaced at 100,000 miles
They will be in the converter inlet or pipe before it

Bank 1 is the right or passenger side
If you do an O2 sensor do bothe side if you have daul exhaust

As you said you can not have any vacuum leaks in the ducting
buy the air filter, maf or anywhere

O2 Sensors also come loose from the heat & thus exhaust leaks
& codes
The sensors doesn't know where the air comes from & just reports
what goes past it

I have a problem with a 2000 Ford F250. have changed thermostat, water pump and radiator. truck does not overheat, but will force water back out through the reservoir. is it a intake maniford or head...

You have a blown gasket.
You will have to repair it with a new gasket.
First try a quick fix like a Stop Leak for head gasket Bars Leaks or similar heavy duty.

Do i need to remove the manifold in order to remove the starter on my 1995 6 cylinder pathfinder

The exhaust maniford does not need to be remove. The starter will have to come pass the front axle (if 4 wheel drive) and exit below the alternator at the front of the engine. This can be frustrating but it can be done.
