the engine dies out as soon as i take my foot off the gas while going under 10mph, so slowing down while driving has become a problem. is the engine dying out due to just the idle? or do i have vacuum problems?

Just a thought, when having thread problems such as screws
walking out of there thread, its best to place removable loctite
on to the screw. This will stop movement of the screw.

I would try this before you re tap the thread and take a chance
on thinning the wall and breaking the holder.

My 1986 Dodge Ramcharger is having issues while in idle. While just waiting at a stop light or just having the car in idle period, the truck will begin to shake intensly and after 5-30 seconds will die...

Have you tried setting the idle in drive? If you try that, have a helper setting in there with their foot on the brake and parking brake set. I've seen many high mileage vehicles, that wouldn't idle correctly. Other than an engine overhaul, we would set the idle in drive. At least it wouldn't die every time you came to a stop sign or red light. Yeah, when you put it in park or neutral, the idle would go high, but, you don't drive it in park or neutral.
You can get a carb kit for the carb, see if it helps? The carb kit should have all the instructions you need to adjust settings. In the past every carb kit I used had plenty of instructions. I looked at, they had a carb kit for your vehicle. Find the model number on your carb and make sure it matches their carb number.
If your carb is a holley, you can check the holley web site. I haven't been there in a long time, I don't know if they would have instructions for your carb?

When I start it up and put it in gear it works normally for awhile, but once put back in park it starts reving up from 1400-1800 constantly. Once it drops below about 1500rpms it revs back to about...

Have the idle air control valve checked, the pintle in it could be sticking, or needs a new valve.
That would be the first place to check.

How do i increase the idle speed on a 1986 toyota corolla

if its carburated, there an adjustment screw ,follow throtle cable to linkage on carb, once at linkage you should see a screw, you may have to take a good look to see it , then slowly trun screw in until you get the correct idle, good luck.

1999 Toyata Corolla will not start unless accelerator is depressed. Only continues to run in neutral/park if accelerator is depressed. If shifted to drive engine dies. What are the possible explanations?

check and clean/replace (idle air control) IAC valve. Its probably sticking or motor may be dead, replacing the unit is recommended. This unit controls your engine idle. Hopefully this helps

1986 subaru gl wagon non turbo stays idiling at 2500

Hate to tell you this but sounds like the problem is a vacuum leak. This will make the engine rev. Check all the vacuum lines before making any adjustment. Have to dig out some of my old books to find factory settings for that carb. Good luck and I will try to find in case you need them to restore carb settings.
