first locate the dip stick for the transmission under the hood, after that start car and let run for 1 min,( car has to be running to check transmission) pull dip stick out and wipe it off the stick it back in and check the level again, if it is low you will have to pour the trans. fluid in thru the dip stick hole, add a little at a time and continue to check fluid level until it reachs fill mark on dip stick also the do not make a manuel for the Lincoln LS you can order a disk from Helminc.com that covers all related thigns for this car I had to order one for my LS good luck
Start the car and let it warm up. Set the parking brake and put the transmission in neutral. Then open the hood and on the drivers side of the engine is the transmission. There is a dip-stick that will say transmission. Pull the dip-stick and check the fluid on the dipstick.
DONT HAVE ONE WHERE DIP STICK USE TO BE IS A RED VENT FILL CAP THATS WHERE YOU POUR TRANSMISSION FLUID. BUT THE TRANSMISSION WAS MADE FOR DEALERSHIP TO CHECK.THEY HAVE TO RAISE VECHICLE LEVEL AND ON THE TRANSAXLE HOUSING THERE IS A CHECK PLUG ITS LOCATION ITS ABOVE THE OIL PAN DRAIN PLUG.WITH VECHICLE RUNNING UP IN AIR LEVEL ON THE LIFT.THE CHECK PLUG IS REMOVED IF NO FLUID COMES OUT CHECK PLUG HOLE ADD PINT DONT OVERFILL.IF FLUID POUR TOO MUCH FLUID IN TRANSMISSION IF SLOW DRIP FLUID LEVEL CORRECT.
THATS BECAUSE THERE ISNT ONE THIS IS A JOKE TO CHECK THIS THERE IS A PLUG ON THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE TRANSMISSION BY THE AXLE THAT YOU HAVE TO TAKE OUT AND THEN START THE CAR AND IF (WHEN ) THE FLUID COMES OUT THAT HOLE IT IS FULL THERE IS A RED PLUG ON TOP OF THE TRANSMISSION THAT YOU ADD THE FLUID TO UNTIL IT RUN OUT THE UNDER THE CAR THIS PLUG IS ON THE TOP MIDDLE OF THE TRANSMISSION IF THE CAR HAS A V6 ENGINE ITS UNDER THE CROSSOVER PIPE AND THE CAR NEEDS TO BE ON LEVEL GROUND TO DO THIS
let the engine get hot, park on level ground, open hood, the trans dip stick is at the back of the motor, alot of them today has a yellow or red handle on it. hot in park ,level ground ,pull the dip stick and read on stick, full or add or any fluid touching the stick.hope to help.
YOUR CAR DONT HAVE DIP STICK.IT HAS A OIL FILLER CAP.YOUR NOW HAS TO BE PUT ON A CAR LIFT.AT DEALERSHIP.THEY HAVE TO RAISE IT UP.MAKE SURE IT IS LEVEL.THEY HAVE TO REMOVE A DRIP PLUG ON TRANSMISSION.CHECK FLUID WHILE ITS RUNNING.FLUID COMING OUT DRIP HOLE DETERMINE HOW MUCH FLUID IN TRANSMISSION.FAST DRIP MEANS TOO MUCH.SLOW DRIP LEVEL CORRECT.NO DRIP MEANS YOU NEED TO ADD TRANSMISSION FLUID.
