Make sure fuel pump is cylcing,you sould hear pump when you turn key on. Check fuel filter and relay for fuel pump. If still won't start try banging tank hard 4 or 5 times with key on and see if you hear pump cycle.If that works fuel pump needs replacement. Also try pouring some gas in intake to see if it fires up.

Car jerks like it's running out of gas upon acceleration, don't know much about fuel injection and at a loss was running hot with no indications. thought it was bad gas at first, got a gas treatment. the...


!.The car will jerk when you accelerate, especially if your fuel filter has been blocked due to accumulated waste in it. but you would lack power always.
cuz it's fuel injected very well might be a bad throttle position sensor. TPS for short.
one or the other is my belief. will take awhile for the tps to throw a hard code. so i'm betting on that. ck rockauto for price of the unit i don't think it'll break the bank.

2001 jetta wont start after running out of gas


Your fuel injection lines have air in them. TDIClub.com has the procedure you need to get it running again. It's fairly simple but involves some tools (mighty vac, flare nut wrenches and pliers). Important: continuing to just crank it without bleeding the air from the system will risk damage to your very expensive injection pump.

1994 Blazer 4.3 keeps stalling out running rich smells like gas


Leaking fuel pressure regulator , or leaking injector's ,depends on injection system . ! it's only running rich on right bank. whatever that means . Your vehicle is a v - 6 has two banks . right side of the engine an left side of the engine . Bank 1 is where #1 spark plug is . bank 1 is odd numbers 1-3-5 Bank 2 is even firing #'s 2-4-6 . What fuel injection system does it have ?
Your best bet mite be to take your vehicle to a qualified repair shop.

Won't start when cold


hello wyatt...... Is your jag.built with a carburetor or fuel injected?
Carb, your choke is not set to close when cold, and should be set. When set, it also sets a cam that keeps the engine running fast. Then when warm, you hit the pedal and the cam moves, and the engine speed goes to normal. Unless the choke is set, the engine cannot keep running, as it tries to run on cold gas and it can't run good on cold gas. It needs more gas, therefore, and the choke makes more gas go into the engine.

Fuel Injected, the computer should adjust the amount of gas your car is getting when cold. If not, the coolant sensor might be bad.
The coolant sensor senses the cold engine and tells the computer to add more gas. Once the engine is warm, the coolant sensor tells the computer to put the gas to normal.
So, if the sensor is not working, the engine will try to run normal, and if cold, it can't. Joe Thanks for choosing Fixya!

When i take the intake plenum off, there is fuel sitting in the left hand side(fuel press regulator side) 1995 chevy blazer. the fuel injection got replaced last summer and i replaced the regulator a month...


Wow, that's interesting, I'm trying to think how you could be getting gas in the oil. I'm guessing the gas on top of the motor is coming from a leaking O-ring. You maybe have a nick or tear in one of the O-rings in that area. It might only leak at certain temperatures with things expanding and contracting. Try wiggling some of the lines and fuel pressure regulator to see if you can make the leak a little more obvious. As far as gas in the oil the only thing that I can think of is leaky injector and the gas running down past the piston rings. I guess it could leak down past the intake manifold into the lifter valley but, I find that hard to believe. Good luck with that one, have a Happy New Year!!!

My civic seems to get fuel but it would not stay running.


check the fuel filter and the pressure regulator to make sure you are getting the proper amount of fuel to the injectors. best done with a pressure tester hooked to the port on the fuel rail should read around 30 psi
