SOURCE: where is the transmission filter
It should be inside the transmission fluid pan, provided it is an automatic transmission. You will need to drain the transmission fluid and remove the pan to access the filter. It will be held to the bottom of the transmission by 2 bolts or screws.

no serviceable filter in transmission. Kia requires trans.fluid to be changed every 30,000 miles. A simple drain and fill will do.
