Question about 2000 Nissan Frontier

2 Answers

The radio and cigarette lighter are not working. What do I do to fix it - no fuse says radio.... We left the lights on. The battery died. We got a jump, battery charged back up, but radio and cig lighter did not come back. Can't figure out the fuse thing... saw spare fuse on cover, and cig. lighter space, which used 15A fuse, so we put a spare in... but did not work.

The radio might have its own inline fuse at the back some have them on the live wire in a black tubular casing , you need to get radio out of hole in dash to find this out, do same with lighter to, some have a fuse inline as well remove that and see if that has a simular thing to the radio hope that helps

I just did this in my 2002 frontier. It was a 15a fuse labeled "audio" which was in the fuse box inside the engine compartment near the battery box. It was on the right second down from the top.

I rigged a 12 volt inverter into my 2002 honda accord cigarette lighter port and it fried it. I mean the radio quit working actually the whole middle console shut down and the car died with me but crank...

first check all fuses this is done by using a test light 12 volt . put one end to ground or negiative side of battery. touch other end to fuse with key on the light should light on both sides if only one side lights up replace the fuse. if no fuses are bad I suggest testing the alternator .if this was helpful please leave good feed back

Cigarette lighter fuse location

its in the fuse box. but no year, stated, so impossible to be more clear
open glove box, extract the operators guide, see page called fuses.
lost?, then buy one.
or just look, see the fuse box
cab
see the one marked CIG.?

on my 04 GV, its fuse marked CIGAR #39 , plain as day.
and runs my radio too, so if blown on my car, the radio dies.
try posting a year.

99 malibu inop radio fix

Stock radios have 2 fuses that run them.

Fuse 1 is usually labeled as Radio in the fuse box.

The 2nd fuse shares circuits with other devices that are powered straight off of the battery, so look and see if your dome light works, and your cigarette lighter. If either of those aren't working, check the fuse for that item. Cigarette lighters are usually listed as Cigar in the fuse box, and dome light is usually CTSY or Courtesy.

Radio won't turn on. Fuse blocks don't identify a radio fuse?

w/out amplifier; dome, and Cig. hint if you cigarette lighter is working and your dome light is working ,the problem is not fuse is the radio.

With amplifier. Amp, Cig, and Dome; again if cigarette lighter and dome light and amp fuse is good then amplifier is bad, or Radio is bad the only hint in this one is that the amplifier control sound if radio has ilumination then the amplifier could be the cause.

All this fuses are located by the lower left side of the steering column.

sounds like it's a fuse issue even tho the radio works,, my vehicle has a radio fuse and a assessory fuse the controls the lighter and lights on the radio

My child pushed in the cigarette lighter until

you could be lucky and the fuse blew, and it could be a burned wire, check the fuse panel and replace the fuse if blown, if it blows again you have to fix the wires, and possible the cigarette lighter if it got damaged

Cant find radio fuse

I'm sorry if this sounds a little too vague, but when the exact same thing happened to our Accord, my husband handled it and I wasn't really involved. Someplace you should have a card (It's either in with your papers if you bought the car new or if you bought it used, hopefully the last owners left in the glovebox or ? .) that has a 'security code' on it for 'resetting' the radio, etc. (There's some sort of an auto-shut-off in case someone is trying to steal your radio, etc..). When you follow the directions on the card and punch-in the numbers, it automatically resets and the radio and lighter* come back on (*BTW, I'm not sure if our lighter ever went out...??). If you can't find the card, then you'll have to go into a Honda dealership (They will NOT give out the # over the phone!) and by using your VIN they can look-up your #, although I don't know if they charge for this service or not. Hope this is of some help to you! BEST OF LUCK!

My 1995 honda accord radio and outlet adapter not working

There is blown fuse check fuse panel on the left side kick panel . check all the fuses in that fuse box with a fuse tester some circuits are linked together. it may not only be the cigarette lighter and radio fuse that control those items. Double check all fuse with a fuse tester or a test light with the ignition ON. Good luck and thanks for using FIX YA

Cigarette Lighter Coming on but power not strong enough to charge anything

the two problems that you posted could be connected somehow by the alternator not charging because of the belt issue. so if you have a low battery, the cigarette lighter would have a low voltage also.

then on the ipod issue, the memory of the radio could have been lost due to removal of battery cables or the battery really went down on its voltage. just re-configure your radio to accept the ipod music.

tnx 4 using fixya,

Cigarette lighter does not work

To test if the cig lighter works buy a 12volt test light at radio shack and test the center of the cig lighter to see if you get power there.if you don't then there is a blown fuse somewhere check the fuses in the engine compartment?
