Easy fix.. check them all! Not that many! If you don't find a blown one, replace the switch. If it is not woking on BOTH the drivers side control, and the switch on the door itself, it probably the motor

sounds like you blew the fuse , change the fuse for the window and close and deal with it later ,the fuse should be either under the dash of under the hood look in the owners manual under the fuse section good luck

1999 Toyota Camry intermittent window will not go up and down

On the actuating motor their is a small solenoid switch that needs to be sprayed with an electrical contact cleaner. It is also a thermal switch that will shut off power if something is binding the closing or opening of the window, and will come back on after about three minutes after it cools down. The best check is to slam the door pretty hard and see if that makes it work. That will pinpoint the problem as being in the door.

A4 drivers door is locked closed and will not respond to remote or open when I pull the opening lever. As no electrics are getting to it all windows are not responding

It sounds like the linkage inside the door is broken. You'll have to remove the door panel and check the connections. Be sure and check your fuses first to be sure nothing is blown.

do any other windows work?
do they work from the drivers switch panel?
if they do, then power is likely to be present to the switch.
if the driver and pass. switches are interchangeable, try swapping them.
if all windows are dead, look for blown fuse first, then check switch and the socket/wiring harness connected to the switch.

The back windows wont go up

Hmm, not a lot to go on - you may wish to skip through the first few bits as trivial / tried already ......

1) Are they manual or electric? Mine are electric, controlled either from the door itself, of the panel in the central driver armrest. If they are manual and won't close, its a mechanical problem.

2) If they are electric, will they close by the front controls, but not the ones on the door? If so, its the child central locking (the fifth button in the centre of the front panel), which stops children from playing with the windows (They really can choke a child).

3) If they won't close by either set of buttons, have you checked the fuse? Its Fuse number 2 in the upper auxilliary fuse panel, rated at 30 amps. This panel is immediately above the main passenger cabin fuse panel, found behind the drivers side lower fascia panel.

4) If the fuse is good, does the window motor make any noise. If it sounds like its running, but the window isn't moving, then its a mechanical part that requires changing. Other than being a bit fidgety (technical term), its easily a DIY task, although confirm the bit is broken before getting the new spare in.

5) If the motor is "dead" its worth checking if any power is getting to it (before shelling out for a new one). I've never known a motor wear out, but theres always a first time.

The good news is that all of this is within easy grasp of a person with a screwdriver and spanner on a LandRover, although you'll probably need a few fascia clips to get the internal panels back on after "open part surgery".

Saturn LS2 1998. Front passenger window won't close.

Does the window move at all? If so, then it may have come off the track inside the door. Otherwise the window motor may be going bad. You will need to remove the door panel to investigate.

I had a similar problem with a '95 Olds. Turned out that the wires between the door frame and the driver's side door had broken from the constant flexing of the door opening and closing.
