How do I get my iPod to work after battery changed in 2006 Avalon

I have an aftermarket iPod system (or whatever you call it) installed in my 2006 Toyota Avalon. I was able to play my iPod using the AM/Satellite button. Ever since the car battery was changed, the button only goes to AM and not to satellite and the system no longer recognizes my iPod.

SOURCE: toyota avalon 2006 key fob apparently doesn't work

It looks like you have the "Smart Key" (a small rectangular box) that does not look like a traditional key.
What you also have is a dead battery inside the Smart Key.
Look closely at the box; there is a little button on the side. Press it. This will release a small hidden key. After you remove the small key, use a small flat blade screwdriver to pry the case of the box open at the slot provided. Take the unit to a store that sells miniature batteries, and have it replaced. You will NOT have to reprogram it after the battery is changed. The life span of the miniature batteries is roughly 20 months, less if exposed to RFI, like sitting on a TV, a monitor, or other electrical device. The Smart key TRANSMITS all of the time, even when you do not press the buttons. This is why the battery only lasts 18-20 months. Let me know if this fixes your issue..

SOURCE: Installation of 2004 Toyota Avalon cabin filter

I will be happy to provide you with the instructions.

Open the glove box.

Remove all of the contents.

Observe the right side of the glove box door, you will see a black plastic thing/arm that is connected to a cylindrical device; Remove the arm from the glove box door.

After the arm is disengaged from the glove box door. squeeze the sides of the glove box towards the middle, to defeat the 2 stops that prevent the glove box from falling completely open.

Whilst squeezing the sides of the box inward, lower the glove box door down.

With a flashlight, look into the area behind the glove box. You will see a long rectangular device, this is the door/tray for the cabin air filter. Pull it out, towards you. Once it is out, you will be able to extract the dirty filter, and replace it with a new one.

This entire procedure should take you about 3 minutes. Very easy.

Thanks for choosing FIxYa for assistance. A FIxYa rating (4 blue diamonds) would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance.

SOURCE: 1999 toyota avalon horn works intermitely

I would suggest to you to have the spiral cable (or 'clockspring') replaced. This is the electrical unit that transfers power to the air bag, the horn and the cruise control.

It is located right under the seering wheel.

Your description of the issue indicates to me that your spiral cable is loose, and making intermittant contact. If the vehicle had an air-bag deployment, this cable-device should have been changed.

Something is staying in the on position to eat you battery in the night. Try disconnecting battery for about 20 minutes to see if that will allow whatever relay is open to reset and close. Also aftermarket alarm systems and stereos can cause this issue.

2004 avalon looks like it's over heating temp when up to 3/4 of the way on the guage while going slow in traffic on a hotter then normal day

Ok, if you have your A/C working going slow in traffic you did not have enougth air flow througth your radiator, check if fan is working properly and no fan shroud is missing,
Also ... have you change your thermostat? still factory? or it is an aftermarket, well have a shop flush your coolant and repalce your thermostat a factory is the way to go, I always encounter problems with aftermarket thermostats, be on the safe side and keep a healty cooling system, it will pay off.

2006 toyota avalon needs new battery. how do I change it?

You remove the positive and negative connectors and take out battery and then installation is opposite of removal. Make sure not to mix up the connections as you can do serious damage to your vehicle. You may want to consider going to a place like sears, when you buy a battery they can install it for free. Upgrading 2006 Mercury Milan's sound system with MP3 jack.

Even though your current radio has an AUX button the radio is not programmed to utilize it.
There is no 'easy' way to add the '07 Job 2 and later year model's factory Aux input.
You will need to buy an aftermarket solution. Something like this http://pac-audio.com/productDetails.aspx?ProductId=821&CategoryID=24
