you may want to check your crankshaft pully to make sure it does not slip. we were having the same problem with our 2004 kia and the crankshaft pully had lost its pins. so it was just spinning on the crankshaft bolt. its the center pully, the one comeing driectly out of the motor. we found this by opening the hood and turning on the a/c. the drag from the belts turning the a/c on. made the belts squeel slightly and you will see the pully slip under the load of turning on the a/c this takes 2 people. you want to start the car with the hood up a/c off and while the second person watches the center belts and pully have the driver turn on the a/c if the belts squeel or the center pully slipps thats your problem.. also if you have any problem with power steering, lights going out or dimming, battery going low or any function light coming on inside. thats an indicator of this also.. i hope this helps you...

Location of crankshaft censer 2007 chevy cobalt


The Crank shift sensor is located in front of the motor in between the intake manifold and oil filter housing, nest to the knock sensor. Look on side cylinder block beside starter.you have to remove the starter to remove the crankshaft sensor. Hope this helps. Thanks for choosing Fixya, RJ

Crankshaft pullys drift in and out about one quarter of an inch throwing outside belt also making noise but it doesnt sound internal


your crankshaft shouldn't be moving that much. you need to check to see if your pully is loose or not, if pully is tight to crank and the whole crankshaft is moving that much then the thrust is out on crank and oil pan should be removed and thrust bearing checked. may have to remove and tear down engine to have crank and engine block checked at machine shop.

sounds like the pully is spinning around the harmonic balancer the **** is broke i have same problem almost o rilley parts has one 50.00 bucks rent the tool to take it off and go to youtube to see how good luck

Crankshaft pulley has the wobble not spinning in a even manner


Most likely the rubber part of the harmonic balancer has deteriorated causing the twin pulleys to separate. Tightening would not help if this is the case. A replacement would be needed.

My L200 is cutting the side off power steering belts.it has had the re-call on the power steering pump bracket done.


ensure that the pullies are alligned together! crankshaft pully or power steering pully slightly out will cause this! maybe the crankshaft pully will need to be shimmed.

Pulling the harmonic balancer off a 98 nissan pathfinder


Most balancers have two parts, the inner crankshaft section is where the huge bolt is and holds it to the crankshaft, they may also be a few smaller bolts around the outside of the big bolt, those hold the belt pulley on to the crankshaft. If it thats kind of setup remove the small bolts and the pulley should come off, you may need to use a wooden hammer etc to get it loose once the bolts are out.

Do 4runners crank pulleys go bad


Yes, in most cases you can. The crankshaft pulley is bolted to the front of the crank shaft by either 1 large bolt and thick washer, or by 4 small bolts around the edge of inside of the pulley, depending on model.

Remove all belts that are driven by the crankshaft pully and then grasp the pully to see if it is loose in some way.

To remove the large bolt(if that's what you have), will require the use of a strap wrench which can be gotten for the free loan-A-tool from Autozone.

Only if the end of the crankshaft was damaged in some way would you have to replace the crankshaft.
