Take it off for core and you'll know. Most are bolted on.

Where is the thermostat located inside of a 1995 jetta engine

It is buried.
It is underneath the waterpump, and that is underneath the AC, alternator, power steering, etc.
It takes about 5 hours to do the thermostat.
Ultimately it is only held to the block by 2 bolts, and it is on the passenger side, front of the engine. You can see the pulley that drives the waterpump. But it is not easy getting to those 2 bolts.

How to replace a waterpump on a 1999 chevy lumina?

The waterpump is located on passenger side of the car. Its location if you were standing looking from the passenger side at the engine is at the top right of the engine. There is a pully at the top of the engine that has 4 10mm headed bolts should be a non grooved pully.Loosen the bolts on that pully with the belt on once you loosen these bolts but do not remove them just yet.Using a 3/8 drive ratchet find the belt tensioner and release the belt making sure you remember the belt routing.Typically the the belt routing is printed on a plastic shroud that is just above the waterpump. Once you have removed the belt take out the 4 bolts that you previously loosened.Remove that pully now and the waterpump is right behind that. Sometimes the pully sticks a bit so you may need to put something behind it to gently dislodge it.There are 5 bolts on the waterpump the head of these bolts are 5/16 or 8mm remove the the five bolts using a quarter inch drive ratchet.Once this is done you may need to dislodge the pump.A dead blow hammer works well or a block of wood and a hammer could be used in a pinch. This should not require alot of force.Just a few taps should do it you are just breaking the gasket seal at this point. Now that the old pump is removed the old gasket needs to be removed from the waterpump housing. make sure all old gasket material is removed so the new one will seal properly.Take out the replacement pump and and line the new gasket on the waterpump once you have done this remove the gasket so you can adhere the gasket in place with a thin coat of rtv or weatherstrip adhesive. Now you ready to reverse the process to put it back on.Just make sure to line up the five bolt holes and your ready to go. Hope this helps.

Replace water pump on 2001 explorer 5.0 engine

ok, the timing covers have to come off, which means taking off accessory drive belt, possibly alt. ps pump, ac,etc. timing covers need to come off along with the crankshaft pulley. if it is a DOHC there will be 2 gears on the top, with a tensioner and a pulley for the waterpump, the crank shaft will have a toothed gear also. the gears need to be aligned properly or engine damage will ensue if it is a interference engine. 6 to 10 bolts for the waterpump, gaskter etc. your best bet is to buy a hanyes manual at a local parts store for around 20 bucks. it is a complicated repair if you dont know what your doing. if i knew what year the engine is and if it is SOHC or DOHC and if it has a chain or belt i could help you more.. good luck

Need to know the torque settings on the fly wheel and on the clutch &preasure plate on daewoo lanos 1998 manual 1.5 ltr thanks.

put some locktight on the flywheel bolts and make sure they are tight by using a impact gun or jam a screwdriver into ringear and a bellhousing bolt as fulcrum and then pull bolts up with a big snap on knuckle bar and go round twice 1/2 inch drive---clutch use a 3/8 socket set and dont over tighten go round at least 3 times and dont forget to put copper grease on the spigot shaft splines .And remember to top the gearbox oil up with EP90 ,and lightly grease the new rear end oil seal you have obviously changed .

Rattling from under the hood

I would start by splitting up the drive train to determine if it is accessory, engine or transmission related.
There are a number of things that can cause a problem like this.
1) Is the noise louder in drive or reverse.
2) I would start with heat-shields because of your "clank" description. Exhaust manifold, catalytic converter shields and any other you can find under hood or under body.
3) If all is good, check engine and transmission mounts. Make certain none have collapsed, cracked or broken.
4) If all good, remove all accessory drive belts and start engine to see if noise goes away.
That's a lot to start with, so let me know what you find and we will go from there.
Regards.
