The controller should have wiring diagrams with it. Also try http://www.etrailer.com/faq-wiring.aspx. The truck should have a harness that plugs into the factory harness under the dash. The harness paperwork will describe where it plugs into and what wires go where along with fuse location. If you don't hav the harness, you can get it from the dealer or the site listed above.

All trailer lights work on my travel trailer except there are no brake lights to trailer. The issue I can see is there is no power to the brakes at the 3:00 o'clock and 9:00 o'clock pins on my 2004 g

there will be only 1 power wire for the brake lights as they are connected .together. What you are looking at are the indicator lights (1 left wire and 1 right wire)

Need a wiring diagram for the trailer lights on a 2006 F150. I have power at the relay and fuse for the trailer park lights but nothing at the bumper plug

Are you certain you dont have power at the plug? If you have a test light verify first what power you do and do not have at the plug. A "trailer emulator" is a reasonably priced tool available from Tekonsha through most auto parts stores and can save you a lot of time but a test light will work with a little more patience. Looking at the plug with the lid open, the top two blades are tail lights and 12v charge, the left and right blades are left and right turn, the bottom two blades are trailer brake and ground. center is reverse. Let me know when you test power and we can move forward. Be SURE your ground is good while using your test light. BARE METAL is required

We just hooked up our Ford 1996 econoline van to a trailer. The trailer brakes are not working. We checked all the fuses - all seem to be fine. The fuse diagram on the fuse box panel does not tell you...

First thing is your van equipped with a trailer brake controller and is it working. This is usually a small box that is installed inside the vehicle and is needed to operate the brakes. Next what type of plug do you have on the vehicle to plug the trailer into some plugs do not support wiring for trailer brakes. If you have a aftermarket trailer brake controller it will not be fused in the fuse panel so you will to locate a inline fuse used to power up the controller. Hope this helps.

I need to wire an electric brake controller in my truck

you can either wire it straight or gm makes a connector that plugs into the drivers side floor . theres a box down there that has a cover over it and the gm connector plugs straight to it. but be careful because i have seen several times were gm wired it wrong the stop light plug is in the wrong spot.take a test light to ground touch each connector while pressing and releasing brake pedal the one that lights the light, is your stop light look on there connector and check to see if that plug is going to the red wire if not move the red wire to that spot. as for wiring it you have to do it this way. black wire goes to constent hot, white wire goes to constent ground , blue wire goes back to your trailer plug for your electric brake, and red wire as you know by now goes to the stop light.

Our truck has an Accupower Digitrac II electric brake controller

When I googled again, I found a reference which included a manufacturer's name - Tekonsha.
I then googled Tekonsha and found Tekonsha.com, and it led me to a technical support section in downloadable Adobe format with instructions for all of their brands of electric brake controllers. The instructions are very thorough and include installation, operation and troubleshooting.

the fifth wire is most likely an auxiliary power wire, for if you wanted lights inside a trailer. (PLEASE RATE MY ANSWER!)

Installing a 7-pin trailer towing recptical on a 1991 Ford F150.

I believe you can look up the manufacturer of the trailer plug kit and find the wiring diagram there. On alot of the trailer plug kits, they have pics and diagrams in the package. The 7 pin plug (truck side) is available with the pig tail set up that plugs directly into the wiring harness for the lights. Then all you would have to worry about is the 2 wires for the electric brakes.
