I'd check for movement at a hot water control valve under the hood when you move the temperature control.

Sun roof 2005 chrylser 300 touring opens to vent position but will not open any more then that. What could be the problem?

Problem with 1996 Honda Civic Sun roof 2005 chrylser 300 touring opens to vent is this a engine swap or body swap, honda chrysler?
my wild guess, its no honda at all, and
but i have 2 solutions regardless, all cars.
1: the vent control cable is slipped.
2: the vent controls switch or vent motor (acutator) is bad.
all this is covered in the FSM and can get quite complex
why not buy an FSM for your car and read the HVAC sections.

'04 civic ex. When heat is set to come out at feet, it doesn't. what can be the problelm?

it is likely that the link to the diverter is broken or the diverter itself is broken. This is a common problem with plastic parts in cars.

2005 Honda Civic No heat at idle but have heat while driving. not water pump and just replaced head gasket

sounds like a circulatory problem. at the back of your engine compartment there should be two pipes connecting your matrix to your water system. it used to be common practise that when your matrix went to just connect them together and bypass as the dashboard has to come out to repair.

Vent controls

You have lost vacuum to the control head or the vacuum switch is defective in the control head, the vacuum comes from the engine.
