you have oil, but do you have oil pressure? Sounds like you may have a bad crank bearing. Any good tech should be able to tell you quickly. A noise like that can also come from a cracked flywheel. Bottom line is have someone look at it right away.

The most obvious cause would be overheating, followed by low oil pressure. If it sounds like a diesel as soon as you start it up, it's most likely oil pressure, if it takes a while before it starts to make noise that would be overheating. Both can cause serious damage to your engine so get it to a shop and get these things checked right away. Hope this helps.

My oil light suddenly goes on & makes noise- the 1999 Town & Country stalls once in a while-what could be the problem?

Could be time for a new van.
The oil light is warning the driver engine oil pressure has dropped below 10 psi, not necessarily that the engine is low on oil.
Common causes for low oil pressure is a faulty oil pump or screen, or worn engine parts.
The fact you are also adding coolant and you don't see any external leaks sounds like the engine is reaching the end of its life.

Have sum anti freeze mixed in with trany oil do to raiator fail would a transmission flush and folter change get anti freeze out

Worth a try, might do it a few times in a short time since you cannot get it all out without total disassembly-or find a place that pumps it out doing a total trans flush. Cheaper than a new trans.

Anti freeze is leaking between the motor and the fan housing , what are the possible causes ? It looks like part of a round rubber gasket is hanging out ?

Sounds like your waterpump has gone bad. Could be fan belt broke that drives waterpump (would explain large rubber pce hanging out) Have a reputable shop look at it for you.

I have an Isuzu rodeo sport with a 2.2l l4 engine. I have oil getting in my anti-freeze. It is a manual transmission .

If you have oil in the anti-freeze it is most likely the head gasket or the head itself that has cracked or warped allowing oil to enter the coolant passages in the head.

1999 Jeep Cherokee Sport 4.0L engine. Oil

I'm assuming the engine is still running and no engine noise has occured due to loss of oil pressure, and it is just the gauge that is not reading? If so, the oil pressure switch that is located on the camshaft sensor, could have a bad connection or the oil sensor will need to be replaced. The oil sensor is located on the left side of the engine and is mounting horizontally on the camshaft sensor housing.

I have a 97 trans sport and when i drive it it pops real loud, and almost feels like passenger side front end jumps

check your front wheel drive axles/half shafts, see if the rubber boots that cover the bearings are not torn or missing.. sounds like you might need to replace the axle/half shaft on the passengers side

I just bought a 97 pontiac trans sports and i dont remember the anti theft thingy to starty it and the guy i bought the van from is gone

Contact a Pontiac Dealer, I believe on that van, if you take and cycle the key off and on 3 times, that will reset the alarm and anti theft thingy.

I have a 1996 Jeep Cherokee 2wd automatic. I was driving at about 65 mph and the transmission suddenly went to free spin like it is was neutral and oil started blowing out of the dipstick. Park works but...

i have worked on many of jeeps in my time lol. wow i sound old now. this has happened to a couple of them. the only way to make sure the trans is in "fit" condition. is to rifill the trans with fluid, doing so with the engine hot. allow to idle for about 30 min to help heat the trans up and fill. if the prob still cont, then you will have to have the trans serviced. an electrical problem would not cause it to blow fluid, only a mech prob would. if you have further questions email me at
