The noise should be apparent enough to tell which side it's coming from. if you cant tell at all or it sounds like it's from the middle, it's possible it could be the front differential.

I have a 98 Oldsmobile Intrigue the code c1226 and c1233 what does these codes mean.the track off ,anti-lock,service soon light are on what does this mean

C1226 Right Front Excessive Wheel Speed Variation
C1233 Left Front Wheel Speed Sensor Input Signal Missing
You could have a bad sensor on the left front wheel or bad wiring. Have it checked by a mechanic. Your anti-lock braking system is probably disabled under these conditions.

When driving a loud humming sounds almost like a tire is rubbing

Hello: Raise up the side (front or rear) the noise is coming from roll the wheel and wiggle from side to side. Any movement and or noise would indicate a failed wheel bearing.

I have a 2005 Chevy Trailblazer and it is making a loud humming noise coming from the rear end. What could that be making the noise?

ok it could be two things. it could be rear wheel bearings or a rear diff. If its a high pitch wine then its worn gears in your differential. its needs serviced or replaced. If it more of a rumbling or grinding hum, coming only from one side or both) then there are bad wheel bearings.

I just bought an2003 ford explorer 4x4 and i have a loud humming noise coming from the front end tires are brand new it has around 190,000km please help

If the noise is only when the vehicle is moving it sounds lek you have a bad wheel bearing. You can inspect ford move ment or play shaking the tires up and down and left to right while lifted up on hoist or jack. If there is no movement doesn't necesarily mean the bearings are okay, however if there is movement in bearing replace and drive again. Antoher way to determine Which wheel bearing is bad is to drive and turn to the left, if the noise gets louder than it mens the rightside wheel bearung is bad. If you turn to the right and noise gets louder replace driver side front wheel bearing. Also Rub your hands across your tires, does it feel wavy or uneven, you could have cupped tires, I DON'T KNOW HOW NEW THEY are but cupped tires will also make this noise. One way to see if it is the tires is to do a rotate If noise changes at all then you no its a tire causing noise. Hope this helps.

Need to know how front wheel bearings are set up. have movement on lhs

If you have movement from the bearing that you can feel on the wheel, you would have known about the problem long ago from the noise it would have been making. Usually wheel bearing make a growling noise when they are worn. Front wheel bearings usually bullet proof. I have a CorolIa with 250 000 km on the clock with original bearings. If there is movement it is probably coming from one of the other components, anything with a ball joint such as your tie rod end will cause movement when worn. Jack the wheel off the ground and check for up or down movement, could be tie rod end, worn shock and so on. If you move the wheel sideways movement is probably from play in the steering components. Listen for clunks or knocks and home in on those sounds. Anything you change in the front end of your car will throw the steering geometry out and the car will need the wheels to be realigned.

99 chevy blazer the abs light stays on all the time

There are several reasons why the abs light would come on. Mostly a bad tone ring or sensor within one of the front wheel bearings is bad. To truely know what the actual reason for the light you will need to have a local repair shop or your local auto parts store scan the abs system with a scan tool equipped with abs software. An easy way to rule out a bad wheel bearing , is to raise the front wheels and check for movement in the wheel up and down.
