I have a 1989 Mazda 323, when cold engine idles very high, when very cold it idles so high that rev limiter kicks in, and it revs up, limiter kicks in, revs up limiter kicks in, once it warms up idle drops...

Have it looked at by a dealer,iam not sure here but i think you have a vacumn leak like the feed pipe to the servo split but really you need a mechanic who works on these cars day in day out and they will go straight too the problem for you

try cleaning the egr if not it is most likely the mass air flow sensor

2007 gmc canyon sputters like it is going to cut off when applying brakes sometimes hard to start. just changed plugs and air filter . could it be brake booster or something else

if I say possible servo booster is faulty,surely you will feel it on the brake pedal ( stiff ),or the engine running would be erratic.the other alternative situation is the pipe( hose ) which is connected with inlet manifold and servo booster and inside has the check valve probably is faulty. Test : off engine,pump brake pedal several times till gets stiff. Keeping your foot on brake pedal start the engine and if your servo works fine then the pedal goes a bit down,if not will not move at all. If the engine is running erraticly then with engine off, remove the pipe connecting manifold and servo block the pipe you remove from servo side,block it and start the engine,If engine run fine,then you must confirm whether is the servo or the check valve hose. For the check valve hose how to check,just put in your mouth the servo side pipe and blow into,if the air goes in the engine means that the check valve is broken and you must renew the pipe with check valve,if on blowing into will not allow air to get through,means is ok and the servo is the fault. The cruise control on my 2000 S-10 has been erratic recently. It will operate sometimes and not at other times. Today it is not working at all. I have checked the fuse, but not the servo.

The other think to check is the connection from the break pedal to the cruise unit. Reason being to disengage the cruise you press on the brake pedal. Good Luck

I have a 2004 avalanche, while driving my speedometer drops out or sometimes just goes O then back and forth then back to normal. can you help me solve this

You most likely have a servo motor in your instrument cluster that is going bad. The gauge needles are actually moved by small electric servo motors and if one of these starts to fail you'll end up with what you are erratic gauge or gauges. The fix is to remove the cluster and have it repaired. There are several companies that can do this but I take the ones we do here to our local GM dealer and have them send it out for us. I believe they replace all the servos and illumination bulbs when they fix them but doesn't hurt to ask just to be sure. I always double check the problem first using a scan too just to be sure that something else isn't wrong but it's most often the cluster that is at fault. Hope this help you out!

1993 S-10 Blazer has erratic idle and stalls

Check the tps "trottle positioning sensor, on mine the idle would not stay steady, and shift so hard that it would sound like it was going to break something. it is located on the drivers side of the throttle body with a push in electrical connector.

To much air pressure im my crank case valve, i believe thats what it is called. a whistling sound comes from the car it make the idle jump and the brakes seem a bit harder to push, when it makes this sound...

sounds like you have a bust vacuum pipe somewhere possibly between the vacuum pump and the brake servo
the engine is sucking in extra air which will cause the idle to jump and run erraticly
