Question about 1995 Dodge Ram 2500

1 Answer

I have a Dodge Ram 2500 Dayvan 1995. 5.2ltr. It starts fine on auto choke. It comes off auto choke. However it seems to 'hunt' or rev high sometimes. I have checked linkage, it all seems fine. Have you any idea what the problem could be? It has also been converted to LPG. Thanks Des.

The nature of thes transmissions are to delay going int reverse or sometimes foward when you first start the auto. But it could be any of several things. Need to know more about how it acts/

After hour or two car will miss, almost felt like a fuel/air issue. Then acts like transmissions gone. As I accelerate it revs and shifts. (transmission guy said its a newer tranny, not the problem).

there is a few cars that will rev like this that is the auto choke to some engines coming into play (mostly noted on a dodge 1500 v6 mag year model 2000) this is sometimes normal as the auto choke will rev the motor for a while or so before letting the motor calm down per-say as the motor is warming up

sometimes that sound of a fuelpump is coming from under the hood underneath the intake boz thats your auto choke now if u dont hear a winning sound comming from the back the the truck then yuor pump is gone done finished the esaiest way to chane it is to undo the 6 bolts that hold your box on to your frame and the three or 4 screws for the gas filler neck and the ground wire that is located on the passanger side of the boz the conects from the cab to the boz with a 10 mill wrench or socket and there u go your boz is off and its alot fater then dropping the tank\

sounds like you should start by dropping the pan and changing the filter, put cheap fluid in it or reuse the old fluid if its not too bad bring it to a shop and have a transmission flush performed with a good flush machine your valve body is sticking and this should clear things up please rate -jeff
