It may be blower motor failure,I would suggest you replace the blower motor and also replace the blower resistor. The motor is located under the passenger side of the dash,Remove the plastic cover to access it.The resistor is located on the same side also.

Radio, blower to heater, windshield stops and then smells like something is burning

There are several things that may cause those issues - and they are all potentially dangerous ( and labor intensive )!!There could be a bad ground point, burnt or pinched wire, bad relay, poor /corroded connection to the computer, etc. I'm sorry, but this is something that requires a hands on by a knowledgeable technician!
Sorry for the bad news, and thanks for using Fixya!!

yes but if something was getting that hot it should have blown a fuse-you could pick up another unit at a junk yard-cheers Denny

Smell of burning wires and then my blower stopped

I think you should replace the blower motor and (maybe) the blower motor regulator too.

A/c not blowing 1998 deville

Could be the blower motor or the blower motor resistor. Take the blower motor out, power it and see if it works, if it does then replace the resistor.

A/C smelled like smoke then blew 30A fuse - Silverado 1500 2004

You may want to change the blower motor as a precaution.
Do all the fan speeds work?
If not .....change the fan resistor board which is right beside the fan at the same time you change the blower fan motor.

No power to blower motor on grey wire

I would say the blower motor resistor has gone out. The front dash module or the rear one.

2004 Ford Focus - heat is not working

sounds like the blower motor has burned out, that would account for the weird smell as u say, the blower motor is on the passenger side under the dash.

Heater not working

The problem is probably the blower motor resistor. I'm not sure where yours is located exactly. They can be on the firewall under the hood or some are near the blower motor under the dash.
