No it should not be flashing. Get the codes checked or take it to a good shop. Dont go to your local garage where they will just throw parts at it untill they get it rite and you end up with a huge bill.

I have a 1986 isuzu pickup with 2.3 eng i cant find the timing mark on the oil pump pully where is it

Oil pump has no timing mark. Just get the crank and cam marks aligned. Make sure the belt is tight on the right between the cam and crank sprockets when they are on their marks. Then apply tensioner. OK?

Ineed the timing marks on my isuzu rodeo I went by the book but it starts and runs but it runs rough like its still out of time.

You can be a tooth out of alignment. Also is this a twin cam engine? If so they are more difficult to align properly

HOW DO YOU ADJUST THE TIMING ON A 1990 TOYOTA PICKUP (CARBURETOR)

Timing belt and Timing Chain:

Make absolutely certain the marks on the camshaft pulleys are aligned with the marks on the rear belt cover. Check the lower belt pulley; align its mark with the mark on the oil pump housing.

Timing marks 96 nissan pickup

ok? Here is my assumption of what you need. On the 91 the timing mark is a straight pin near the main pulley. the actual marks are on the pulley. Clean it off and you should find them.

Timing 1980 vw pickup

You can remove the #1 spark plug and get the piston at top dead center, (all the way up in the cylinder). You can also check the access hole in the top of the transmission housing, to line up the TDC timing mark on the flywheel to the transmission housing. The mark on the crank pulley is rather hard to see, just a little mark "V'ed" into the pulley lip.

1984 toyota pickup timing belt

To clarify, on the DOHC engine, the intake cam gear has a line on it, and the exhaust cam gear has an arrow on it. These should be lined up with the corresponsing line and arrow on the VALVE COVER, pointing straight up. I just went through this process over the weekend, and spent quite a bit of time looking for these marking as I had removed the valve cover. Once I found them, it was plain and simple.
In addition, be sure to not over tighten the belt when reinstalling. The tensioner has markings on it for "old" and "new". DO NOT adjust past "new", as the car will sound like a jet engine, and the belt will not last for very long.
One more item that you may as well replace while you are in there is the cam position sensor if you have not already, as there have been issues with them, and the timing housing has to be opened to get to it.
