Try the dealer armed with the VIN number - They can make copies for you - also while there check the vin for recalls. Just found an open recall on a 1995 chevy - just this week

Try looking in a Haynes/Chiltons manual. Usually has a breakdown page.
Good luck.

The 2003 Nissan Altima's user manual says to use only Genuine Nissan Matic D ATF (Automatic Transmission Fluid). Dexron III/Mercon or equivalent may also be used.

I want to change the automatic transmission filter. is this an internal filter? is it possible to get an exploded view of my cd4e transmission?

The transmission oil filter is inside the oil pan of the transmission. You will have to remove the oil pan (use a suitable container under it to catch the oil when it comes out) to change it. A Haynes manual has good instructions and pictures for this job.

An exploded view of the transmission may be difficult to find. I found this URL: http://www.gearheadtrans.com/images/fordtech/Cd4eev_blowup.jpg Unfortunately, I was unable to find a key listing the various parts.

What is the milage expectancy out of my 04 murano?

I have an '03 with 175,000 miles on it. It runs well, but I am having minor issues with the plastic falling off underneath, stalling issues (had one tune-up at 90,000, need another) and a new exhaust is on the docket. Transmission has performed well and engine is still in top shape. All the internal gadgets (seat warmer, CD player, windows, air, moon roof, all dash lights) have never had one issue.

I hope yours is comparable and that this posting helps.

At higher speed the car refuses to shift to the next gear. Cannot move faster. DTC code indicates "Transmission Ration Control Motor" What do I do?

Murano doesn't shift. It has a CVT trans. (continuesly variable transmission). no shifting involved. I think that you have an internal failure, which would mean replacement of the unit. No rebuild parts available from Nissan. Whole unit only.
