It's called the door latch. You can't buy parts for it. You can buy the whole mechanism though. Or get one at a junkyard. A spring or small pin has broken inside of it. I tried to many times to find parts for the inside of these things. No luck.

I have a 96 toyota corolla and can't get the fuel door open

This is usually because the spring the pops it open is broken, have someone pry on the fuel door while ppulling the release inside, the spring clips onto the hinge if it's broken get a replacement from the toyota dealer

take off the inside panel to door to find out problem. if you do not know how. you can go to any auto parts store and buy a haynes manual for your car. they are based on a complete teardown of vehicle, this book will tell you how to do the job. there only about $20.00,

My fuel door broke off, can I fix it using the old fuel door without buying new one. It is a 2003 Celica

no not really but you could look for one in a slavage yard. find one that lets you pull off your parts as they are cheap. usually just two bolts to remove. some are riveted on but not many. good luck

I cant get the interior fuel compartment lever to release. Any ideas how to open the door so i can get to the gas cap, without tearing the door off.

have someone use something to pry it open while you pull on the lever it looks like the spring is broken or rusted off. in case you have a broken cable you can remove cable from inside trunk.

My 99 Explorer Sport driver side door lock will not unlock using remote, key, outside touchpad or inside control. The plunger goes about halfway up then relocks. There is a broken spring inside the lock...

yes you do have to take the panel off and i wouldnt go for the spring just yet- the door lock actuator itself coluld be bad... if the spring is broke it is part of the latch, serviced as an assembly. hope this helps and good luck

The door wont open how do i open the door lock is broke other 3 doors open, drivers door will not open is there a way to open door to fix it

Apparently you'll have to take it apart yourself and identify the part you need - OR - take it into the Hyundai dealership and have it diagnosed and they will give you an estimate of repairs.
