My opinion differs from solution #1 I'm gonna guess this vehicle has non adjustable front brakes "disc" I assume .... and rear adjustable "Drum" brakes Which are normally adjusted via a small.. (what I like to call "star" wheel).... to people who are not familiar with this turn this wheel to make the brake "shoes" expand to adjust

There is no adjusting brakes you can bleed them ,your best course of action is to take a tire off at a time and check your shoes or pads if your pads are good then you need to bleed your brake starting with the lright rear then left rear then right front then left .

Brakes wont work pedal goes to floor changed the master cyclinder bleed brakes and still have same problem 1990 ford aerostar van

What is the condition of both front calipers? both rear wheel cylinders? and the complete brake lines and hoses of your van? If they are all good with no traces of leakage, then did you bleed the Mastercylinder on the bench first before installing in the van? Did you gravity bleed the 4 wheels first? did you bleed from the farthest wheel first? Are you using a new Master and not a re-built??

The rear drum brakes:
  • Have internal shoes that expand against the brake drum (1126).
  • Are a single-anchor type.
  • Are actuated by one rear wheel cylinder (2262).
  • Have two pistons in the rear wheel cylinder (2261). One exerts force against the upper end of the primary shoe; the other exerts force against the upper end of the secondary shoe.
  • Adjust rear brake shoes and linings (2200) automatically.
  • Need manual brake adjustment if the adjusters are not operating properly or after the rear brake shoes and linings have been replaced.
When the brake pedal is applied, hydraulic fluid pressure forces the pistons in the rear wheel cylinder outward, moving the rear brake shoes and linings against the brake drum.
The rear drum brake system includes the parking brake mechanism. Refer to Section 206-05 .
