I have 08 dodge avenger and it keeps coming up with a p0480 cooling fan fault. I checked all the wiring and found a broken wire at the relay and fixed it. but now it sill thows the engine light on?

Did you have the computer reset? Usually parts places like Advance, Auto Zone, or others have a thing they can read codes and reset them. If it keeps coming back then more checking needs to be done. Maybe the relay is damaged?

Service engine light is on, with no error codes

Disconnect the negitive battery cable for an hour. This should clear it. Also check the oil levels. Its possible they didnt fill them to the proper levels.

Sounds like a jet engine some time the check engine light just came on 48hrs ago How do I fix it?

the jet noise and check engine light may be related, ive done a few of these with the jet noise. the problem is the clutch fan if frozen, this make the fan spin full speed when not needed to do so,this is the jet sound you hear, replace the fan clutch this will solve your problem,go to auto zone and have them reset the light . the part is about $200.00 and heres a picture of it.f3505f1.jpg

Check engine light on and will not go off went

if its code p0442 the most common problem is gas cap unless they reset the code for u the vehicle has to cycle- start up a few times or reset after certain amount of miles are driven--but-- this code also can b a cracked, broken,or disconnected vent line,go back to auto zone have them rescan and check for code and have them reset the trouble code if it comes back on than a problem still is present
