You will have to verify that oil pressure is to spec before condemning any parts.

6 psig at 1,000 engine RPM
18 psig at 2,000 engine RPM
24 psig at 4,000 engine RPM

If pressure is in spec start by replacing the oil pressure switch.

You probably just have a oil sending unit that is internally defective. You can have the oil pressure checked before you replace the sending unit or just put one in.It is always best to fix it sooner than later. That way you know that it won`t give you any problem down the road.Hope this helps.Good luck.

Oil pressure switch issue
Coolant temperature sensor issue
EVAP system issue
All different issues, so I suggest seeing a mechanic.

Low oil pressure light when accelerating hard

This may sound too simple, but is your oil level sufficient? Some cars have the oil pump at the front, if the oil level is low and you accelerate, the oil is pushed to the back of the oil pan and the oil pump draws air and cavitates, causing momentary low pressure. If that's not the case, I suggest you hook up a direct reading oil pressure gauge, because it sounds like you have an actual oil pressure issue.

Oil pressure gauge high 1987 chevrolet blazer 350 5.7 liter

YOur best bet on a truck that old is to install a mechanical oil pressure gauge. They are available at any auto parts store or even Target or Walmart. Just buy the kit and follow the instructions. Mounting and routing the oil line is the hardest part.
It would be very unusual for the oil pressure to be maxed high in a 350 that is over 20 years old so i have to think the issue is the guage.

2004 GMC Envoy 4.2 liter 4wd. How difficult is it to remove and replace the engine oil pump?

Pump replacement is fairly involved, but the issue is rarely the pump, as it is pretty indestructable. If you have low pressure, usually some clearances are too loose, somewhere. There is also sending unit issues, so measure your pressure with an external "known good" gauge.

I have a 2007 gmc sierra slt, been having oil consumption issues but tonight, I drive to my office, everythig is good, get out go in office, left it running, 5 minutes max, come back out, check engine...

Usually, when this happens, it means your Oil Pressure Sending Unit has gone haywire. Since it runs fine and seems to have no problems, I would first check this out.
It, I beleive, is either located on the back of the block, down around the distributer, or near the oil filter housing somewhere. I am not sure of the exact location, sorry.

I hope this helps!
