Please forgive me as i am from the UK, and don't really know the layout of American vehicles, But maybe it could be the reversing light switch which could be on the transmission box somewhere, very vague i know sorry, just an idea mate not solution.

Brake lights dont work on 2004 jeep cherokee

If one side is going out, then chances are that the prongs inside the light housing are not making contact. It's a well-known problem. It's an esay temporary fix. Just remove the taillights, unplug the wire. Take out the top bulb (brake light) and you'll see three contacts on the inside of the ring of the bilb housing. Take a flathead screwdriver and pry them up just a light bit and then put the bulb back in and plug it back in and give it a try. There is a little bit of trial and error, but it's not the $173 that you'll spend for a new taillight at the dealership.

My reverse lights dont work put new bulbs in but still dont work

you might have a reverse switch fault check on the box to see if it is connecting to the gear leaver when you put it in reverse..if not then that will have to be replaced, it might be the plunger in the switch broken or worn away..hope this helps

Replace rear brake light on 2004 jeep grand cherokee passenger side

Open up the hatch and look for the screws that hold the tail light assembly to the body. After removing them you can gently pull the whole tail light from the truck. You will seee the sockets that the bulbs are in and they twist like a bottle cap to get to the bulb. Just pull the bulb from the socket and reverse what you did to put it back together.
