There is a motor mount between the wheel well and the timing cover that usually goes bad. Not the one on top. It attaches to the the motor through the timing cove and the wheel well. You will have to take off the top mount off to jack the motor up so you can see the mount I am talking about.

SOURCE: 2003 dodge neon motor mounts are causing vibration at accelerated

there is a motor mount that attaches frum the passenger side wheel to the tming cover. this is the mount that usually goes bad. you have to remove the wheel to see the torx bolt at the wheel well. than there are bolts on the other side of the wheel well. after you get those the ones at the motor have to be removed. you will have to place a jack under the oil pan use a piece of wood with the jack. you also have to take the top mount of first. thats pretty easy to replace.

2000 toyota solaro, very bad vibrating when sitting idle, especially when ac is running. replaced all the motor mounts. it didn't vibrate until I changed the motor mounts. ???help

Maybe the drain on the battery is causing the engine to slow during idle This might cause the engine to run roughly and induce vibration. Why change motor mounts. Have a service and refit the original mounts if they are not an issue

I believe that I have either a bad transmission mount or mounts, and possible a bad motor mount or mounts because the car vibrates in drive while running and also vibrates in neutral while running but not...

Get a friend to open the hood and look at the engine go up or down in the engine compartment when the brakes are firmly applied and switching between reverse and drive. Look for the motor mounts for behavior where tears exist in the rubber.

WHAT IS MAKING MY 04 NEON VIBRATE SO MUCH??? ITS WHEN EVER I HIT THE GAS IT VIBRATES LIKE A CHEAP HOTEL BED!!! PLEASE TELL ME..I THINK IT MIGHT BE THE MOTOR MOUNTS OR TH HALF SHAFTS...

It's your motor & transmission mounts - relatively inexpensive.
Here is where you can get all 4 mounts for your car - AUTOMATIC transmission: http://dodge-car-parts.yogiautoparts.com...11_17_2012_8_13_31_pm.jpg
If you feel like reading, here is a bit of information about the function of these mounts on a car:

The purpose of engine motor transmission mounts: Most mounts made of metal and rubber, many newer model mounts are filled with hydraulic fluid, some advance hydraulic mounts come with electronic variable speed control by ECM engine control module. The basic design are the same to support between engine, transmission and subframe. They work hard to keep engine and transmission running smooth minimizing the amount of rattling and vibration from acceleration and stops. At the same time mounts are supporting all major power train systems keeping all mechanical components in balance level and position. Motor mounts are extremely important vehicle parts that stabilize and align a vehicle engine inside the engine compartment. Although small in size and relatively cheap in cost, motor mounts can cause tremendous mechanical problems if they break or go bad. Engine motor mounts are small parts that are used to stabilize and properly align a vehicle engine. When motor mounts go bad, they can cause a variety of symptoms, ranging from mechanical damage to excessive engine noise.

Can a motor mount going bad have anything to do with rough shifting?

I know it will give the car a vibration causing a rough running motor but as far as rough shifting, I am not real sure about that.

Replaced motor mounts, still virbrates like before replacment. mounts were from the factory.

Vibration can be caused by other things than motor mounts. An engine misfire could cause it. A bad cylinder (or valve or piston or spark plug) could cause it. Even a bad alternator can produce vibration. Injector could be a problem - have the engine checked by a qualified technician. Replacing parts can get expensive and an incorrect diagnosis won't help with the problem or cost.

Vibration through the car Transmission-motor Linkage?

Check to make sure both headlights are tight,,,when it rattles at idle go feel the headlight and hold it and see if the noise and vibration goes away, sometimes the headlight has too much clearance and causes a massive vibration,,if thats not it try...loosening all the motor mounts and rock the car back and forth and them retighten them,it reseetles the mounts and sometimes fixes the issue,,also check the lower engine and trans mounts for wear.

no should be same engine. check your engine mounts and tranny mount. how bad a vibration? sometimes after installing engine the trans gets shifted around and if mount was worn it will allow it to hit crossmeber and vibrate.
