When driving down the road at any speed, occasionally I hear a noise that sounds like something is loose or spinning coming from front driver side wheel, I flip it into 4wd and it stops. What's going on?

This sounds like the front hubs are trying to engage. This motor/4wd is real susceptable with vacuum problems. I let my oil get real dirty and it caused the low vac.The dealer performs vac test for front IWES (3c247) and found both of them leaking out of tolerance. This also caused damage on the splined contact points so they had to replace both front wheel hubs (1104)

Not sure what it is...but when I'm driving down

Maybe there is something stuck in the brake caliper. Maybe a caliper retaining bolt is loose. Best check it ASAP. If you can't do it yourself, hit up a Midas or some place.

Clunk noise from front passenger side when

That noise sounds to me like a Ball Joint problem. I would check to see if you have fittings to grease the front suspention.

Good luck, Allen

How do I diagnose a loud whining noise from the front of my honda accord 2001 . The noise gets louder when i speed up and goes away when driving round left hand bends. I can feel vibration when driving....

It sounds like it is def. the wheel bearing. If you can get it on a hoist and let it down with something to stop one side of vehicle at a time and let other side spin freely you will likely be able to determine which side. Or if you have no hoist, jack up vehicle one side at a time and spin wheel listen for growling and also move tire in and out to check for looseness.

How to check front bearings on 2000 kia sportage

hi there, there are two ways to check your bearings, 1, is to jack up the vehicle so the wheel is free of the ground and to check for any play or roughness in the bearing by spinning the wheel, if the bearing is worn then you will hear a droning noise, 2 is to drive along a quiet road, at a speed where you can hear the noise, gently turn the steering from left to right so the vehile load is being shifted from one side to the other, if you have a wheel bearing fault the noise's pitch will alter, hope this helps
