I have a 96 plymouth voyager mini van, which is giving me some troubles. The check engine light came on and it gave me a code for the erg valve which we just change. But it is still giving the same problem.
The van would start running fine and after a while it would cut gas flow and turn off. But if you let her sit for a short while, she will start up and run again. What could be causing this problem?
If you changed the valve, then you would need to have the code cleared. How do you know fuel is shutting off and not electrical ?

You stated that your gas flow was shut off, that is why I asked. It may be that the ignition module in the dist. assembly is getting hot, and then shuts down the needed voltage to run the van. After it cools, then you have spark again, and it will run. The easiest way to check is when it stops, pull a spark plug and see if you have spark.

I did had the code erased, but the problem persist.
I don't know, thats what i am trying to find out. I spoke to a local mechanic and he said it was the ignition coil, but he has not even looked at my car. Also I don't know this guy, so I am trying to find some information before he checks the car.
I don't know anything about cars, and don't have loads of money, so doing my research in so I don't get ripped off.
