Lost power and Black smoke?

You have a Failed MAP Sensor and / or the vacuum line is off or cracked.

The ECU thinks the engine is under full load and is getting all the fuel it can to the engine.

Hope this tip helps guide you to solve this problem.

Would a faulty egr valve on my 02 PT Cruiser 2.2crd cause excessive black smoke and injector knock under full throttle....thanks

black smoke is over fueling and although the turbo appears to spin ok the vale variation actuator may not be operating correctly
there are vanes in the exhaust turbine housing that are altered to increase the exhaust gas flow onto the turbine blades for quicker acceleration and these vanes are operated by a vacuum actuator and rod by a sensor
the vanes are subject to extreme heat and can rust stuck open or the hose gets hard and cracks
s not allowing the vanes to work
I would be concentrating in this area before the EGR valve
run the fault codes as well to get a better idea of the possible fault as some systems only put the light on for extreme conditions in engine and transmission

Black smoke when accelerating, engine light blinks

Black smoke is excessive gas, too much going through the engine, so not all is burned. The engine light on should set trouble codes. Have the computer scanned for codes-it should lead you to the problem.

How much should my Ford ranger 2.5td be smoking,is it normal for diesel engens to smoke.

Sometimes diesel engines will put out black smoke under extreme acceleration. Other than that, they shouldn't smoke. Black is excess fuel, White smoke is water and bluish is oil. White smoke on a cool morning is not necessarily a sign of a problem unless it happens every time you start it through a warm day. Hope this helps.

Excessive black smoke when accelerating

Black smoke means way too much fuel going through. May be stuck open injector(s) or a very dirty air cleaner. Might also be a defective O2 sensor. If you have the check engine light on, rent a scanner and read out any trouble codes. They will point to problem areas or an actual problem.

Smoke comes out of tail pipe when car is accelerated in park. Not really blue but a bit excessive.

If the smoke is black it is a rich fuel feed condition, if the smoke is a blueish color the valve stem seals must be replaced.

Problem with my land rover discovery

its about air filter ,

open your filter air & oil both than clean your air filter than try to change your engine or transmision oils also,

black smoke indicates that your engine can't get more fresh air for serial or parellel combustions,

its easy to solve.

try itwith care.no risk is there
