I hand tighten the clean filter when changing. I then loosen it a half turn because they seem to weld themselves tight. My filter is stuck and I can't remove it. Even with tools.

Hi Larry:
I'm guessing you're talking about the oil filter.
You're right, some of them seem to have a mind of their own and stick like a good thing.
I'd be investing in a good oil filter wrench or strap tool.
I've seen people get so frustrated that they drive a screwdriver through the filter and then twist it off. Waaay too crude!.
I would remind you that when you install the new filter, if you don't coat the seal with oil it will stick.
I'd recommend the oil filter wrench that lets you attach a socket extension and your flex bar. Guaranteed to give you the best leverage, and fewest skinned knuckles.

Removing the drain plug and oil filter on a 2005 pontiac vibe

They sell octagon shaped oil filter wrench that conforms to your oil filter's shape. Take your replacement oil filter, then call the auto parts store in your area and ask if they carry oil filter wrench for your car, If a standard filter wrench keeps slipping off, wrap 2 or 3 layers of rag to the old oil filer, then attach the oil filter wrench. The drain plug turns left to loosen, right to tighten. If you're using a socket wrench, attach a 1/2-inch pipe to the handle to increase leverage (cheater pipe). Another solution is a strap oil filter wrench

How to do a oil change

Pull the drain plug, change the oil filter, replace the drain plug. Add oil until the dipstick reads full. Start the engine and make sure the oil light goes out. Check for leaks around the oil filter with the car running. Recheck the oil level, add as necessary. Let me know if you have any questions and I'll do my best to answer them. Thank you for using!

Oil change 1994 Cadillac Eldorado

well let me see you have 4.6L engine you need 7.5 quarts of oil with new oil do the oil change you need large drain pan and oil filter wrench and a metric wrench to remove oil drain plug you need a funnel need first start engine let it run for 5 minutes to warm up thin out the oil so it will flow better.once engine warm up.turn off the you safely raise support vechicle on jack stands make sure vechicle parked on solid level large drain pan under oil pan remove oil drain plug you need a 15m wrench remove drain plug let all old oil drain out until you see slow drip then reinstall oil drain plug dont over tighten drain bolt.then place drain pan under the oil filter then remove oil filter using oil filter wrench or large channel lock pliers.once you remove oil filter wipe oil filter seal surface with clean paper towel.take new oil filter add oil to new filter then install new oil filter hand tight take filter wrench turn oil filter one half more turn dont over tighten will damage oil filter seal.make sure oil pan drain plug is in place. then lower vechicle. remove oil filler cap on the valve cover add new oil to the engine using a funnel to keep from spilling oil all over the valve cover and exhaust manifold.add all 7.5 quarts to oil crank case wait until oil settle down in crank case check oil dip stick oil level should be at the full mark on oil dip stick.dont over fill crank case.once you finished oil level correct crank engine check for oil leaks at oil filter and oil drain plug. if engine running okay you see no oil warning lights you ready wheel and deal.

You might be looking at the oil pressure sending unit in this that case, an oil pressure sending unit socket is what you need...many mechanics still use channel locks to remove/replace this unit...Hope this helps.

its fairly simple remove the splash cover if you van has one, and then get an oild filter wrench that fits the filter...loosen with wrench.....twist the rest of the way off....replace filter with new one....DO NOT USE WRENCH TO TIGHTEN FILTER...hand tighten...then go 2/3 of a turn after it snugs up. fill with oil..your done.

Fuel filter

its not too uncommon for the lines to be extreamly tight due to corrosion and other factors...enough said.get some GOOD penetrating oil (not wd-40)spray it a couple of times throughout the day,let it sit all night and the most important thing is that you use the correct kind and size wrench you need Line Wrenches get a good one not a cheepo, the filter should have a 13/16 or so hex to put a good open end wrench and hold it as you use the line wrench on the line end.hope it works have a good day DB
