There are common places, you'll just have to look around to see where the leak is:
Around the oil filter and the housing
Around the oil pan and the pan gasket
The oil seal behind the damper pulley
Valve cover gaskets
These are the most common places, leaks can spring up anywhere.

Oil leak from the hose an 1995 oldsmobile aurora

Mostly likely it's coming from the oil cooler lines from the motor to the radiator. My friend's Aurora has the same leak, we replaced the oil pressure sending unit, which is close by the lines, but the lines, where the compressed part of the fitting was leaking there. The oil cooler lines will have to be replaced.

Oil cooler lines leaking. Motor losing all the oil within 10 minutes.

Inspect where the oil is leaking from the oil cooler line, it's common for the oil to leak from the remote oil cooler line adapter bolt on the engine block. You can remove the two bolts one at a time and place a oil drain plug washer with some RTV silicon to ensure that it will not leak.

The other common place for the oil line to leak is from where the rubber lines mate to the aluminum line from the remote oil filter line adapter. This is also a simple fix but you're going to need a drumlin tool cut off the old compression clamp that was press fit. Cut off the old compression fitting ring, use cation that you only cut off the ring and replace it with a new compression clamp. Make sure you use compression clamps and not a hose clamp.

This is the best way to fix the oil leak from the adapter line to the rubber hose line, to replace the whole line with the new adapter is expensive and i believe your have to disconnect the engine mount to raise the engine to clear enough room to install the new line along the frame.

Good luck and don't use any engine oil stop leak, it will damage your oil pressure relieve valve and that's one extra thing you don't need to replace.

1998 aurora oil pan leaking profusly looks like it is coming from the oil pan not sure

it's the oilpan gasket. it's a northstar motor. the caddys with the northstar do it to. mine does it as well. just go to autozone and get some leak stop :) within a thousand miles you'll be nice and dry. it's just a problem the motors had for a few years

I am having a coolant leak in my 97 olds aurora, I had the car presure tested results were little to no leaks, I changed the oil and inspected carefully resluts nothing but oil, I am noticing coolant...

check the coolant crossover pipe between the 2 cylinder heads the gaskets are bad for leaking at the rear good luck they are not fun to change dedicate at least 3 -4 hrs of your time to replace them.

Oil leak

Northstar engine, that's about right. They do take about 8 quarts.
The most common place they leak at is at the oil filter housing that attaches to the block of the engine.

Oil Leak

i would have to say the oil pan gasket. that is the one that I have replaced more often. it is ever usual for the rear main seal to go out but not impossible. but i would have to say oil pan gasket.
hope this helps and if you need anything else let me know. happy holidays.
