1.Check your spark plugs. If need replacing, replace the wires and coils at the sametime.
2.Pull and check the starter by removing it and connecting it to the car battery, if the gear pops and spins your good.
3.CAT might be colgged. Needs replace ment.
4.Hard start=low compression=replace engine.

On the net iv read dexron 3 for automatic mazda rx8 , is it synthetic or jst normal dexron 3?

There is only one DEX 111 ATF formulation and if you have an Rx8 up to 2008 that is what you use. The different brands of DEX 111 are all the same formulation.
If you have a 2008 or later with the 6 speed auto you will need another Auto Trans Fluid so check with Mazda on that or check your owners manual for the ATF specification.

Changed battery in rain have lights engine turns over but no fire

The rx8 has the rotary ankles engine in it, these have porcelain tipped rotors instead of pistols and are prone to wear resulting in them not starting. The car should start with a bump or toe start. This will require an engine strip down and rebuild and should only be carried out by a qualified mechanic. (Mazda recommend rotors be replaced every 25000 miles)

Let me know if this helps

2004 Mazda RX8 won't start

You already were told by a mechanic what your
cars issues were

Most likely you need a need timing belt or some
sort of engine work

Had a question bout my mazda rx8 I was driving it one night it was running fine the next day went out and it won't turn over it takes awhile bit it finally starts and idles real rough and you give it...

Too many possibilities

Won't turn over is one problem -battery,cables,grounds,
starter,solenoid,etc

Idles rough-- vacuum leaks, spark plugs never replaced,
egr valve etc

Worn O2 Sensors
Dirty MAF Sensor
Old Fuel Filter

You have to go into a lot of technical detail & history
on your vehicle, for us to even guess.

Mazda RX8 starting problem

Check that your battery is fully charged. If it does not sustain a charge , replace it. Clean the cables and battery posts with baking soda and water mixture. About 1/4 cup to a pint. If it still does not turn with a fully chared battery, it is probably the starter that is bad. It will have to be replaced. One click usually means the starter is bad. Several clicks usually means the battery is bad.
