Question about 2002 Volkswagen Jetta TDI

2002 jetta tdi airbags problems

I have a 2002 jetta tdi and recently my car has been involved in a hit and run in driver's front left bumper.There is a big damage on the bumper and the airbags has been deployed without any reasons or any one in the car. Please help! is it possible that the airbags deployed when the car has been hit and no one is seat in the car? thanks for your help

It is not supposed to be possible for the airbags to deploy when the car isnt moving. Sounds like the car had a defective airbag system, Just be grateful it never blew up while you were behind the wheel. If it were me I would contact VW and see if they are willing to help you. And if you decide to replace the airbags, I would fight like crazy with the insurance company to have every aspect of the airbag system replaced(all sensors and computers associated with it). If you are in America, your state has an attorney generals office, If no one is willing to work with you, A friendly and concise letter to the attorney general usually straightens everyone up.

Your cylinders are numbered from left to right, standing in front of the car, So #3 is the 3rd from the passenger side. Hope this helps.

I recently bought a 2002 jetta tdi, no check engine lights are on but something is drawing juice from the battery and when i go to start it after an hour the battery is stone dead with nothing on in the...

parasitic drain on battery. connect cheap test light between negative battery post and cable. with hood light unplugged light should be off. if it is on, something is pulling on the battery. unplug one fuse at a time until the light goes off. then check (unplug) each component in that circuit to pinpoint the drain. replace the shorted component

Remove & replace waterpump on a 2002 volkswagon jetta turbo, is it hard to do. Car overheats at regular highway speed, runs find locally. Please help?

i had a mk4 golf 1.8t there basicly the same and its not that hard to do the whole front of car come off so you can work on it very easy grill off then bumper then you see the 8 or so bolts holding bash bar and whole front end on undo and you have all the room in the world if you need more detailed steps email me i have a haynes manual i could scan a few pages if you need

check for bent axle or missing vibration rubber damper that is usually on the axle.

The bumper cover has cracked, due to a parking lot wheel stopper getting caught underneath. What is the most afforable way to replace the bumper cover?

What you need is called a LOWER FRONT VALANCE.

You can get one from a VW dealer or search the web to buy.

Easy to install. I got mine from ebay for $20.00

no it wont. in order for the air bag light to go off you must get a VW air bag resetter. they sell for about 45 bucks. it will reset the light and crash data. since your airbag light is on the airbags are locked up. once reset they will work again. anymore questions give me an email...

My stereo wouldn't work in my 02 tdi, so i checked

im afraid the only way to switch of the airbag light is to use some form of diagnostic machine, as this is a saftey related item, i hope this helps .

2002 Jetta TDI, has 180,000 miles. Engine sputtered and cut off.

standing at the front of the car pull the cover off the left side of the motor and check the belt. No tools are required the check the belt. Cover pulls up and off. It's to the left end of the valve cover.
