Question about 2002 Volkswagen Jetta TDI
I have a 2002 jetta tdi and recently my car has been involved in a hit and run in driver's front left bumper. There is a big damage on the bumper and the airbags has been deployed without any reasons or any one in the car. Please help! is it possible that the airbags deployed when the car has been hit and no one is seat in the car? thanks for your help
It is not supposed to be possible for the airbags to deploy when the car isnt moving. Sounds like the car had a defective airbag system, Just be grateful it never blew up while you were behind the wheel. If it were me I would contact VW and see if they are willing to help you. And if you decide to replace the airbags, I would fight like crazy with the insurance company to have every aspect of the airbag system replaced(all sensors and computers associated with it). If you are in America, your state has an attorney generals office, If no one is willing to work with you, A friendly and concise letter to the attorney general usually straightens everyone up.
