First things first. If the reader won't power up check the fuse for cigar lighter. Should be a 10 amp/yellow fuse.

You fail to mention that you have done any engine control module fault code testing, borrow a code reader for the OBD2 engine control system and read the fault codes.

08 Ford Edge will crank but will not start

If it cranks good but won't start, have a helper crank it while you check for spark at the plugs. If spark everywhere, use a gage and check proper fuel pressure. Also, check fuel injector pulse. Any applicable trouble codes? To check codes yourself, at the least, you need an obd2 code reader. Even if there are no codes, it is well worth the price, in my opinion. You will always have it, in the future.

My 2001 ford f150 cranks but won't start and the spark plug has no spark need answers

You need to hook up a OBD2 fault code reader or a scanner and read the fault codes, that is the very 1ST thing that must be done to diagnose the problem.

2002 oldsmobile alero cut off whlie driving trid to crank it wont start belt just spen

The first thing you need to do is have a fault code test run with a OBD2 code reader. Do that and post the results of the test. There is not a simple reason for this problem on modern cars, they are completely computer controlled and there are many things that will cause the engine to stall. In short have the testing done or buy/borrow an OBD2 code reader.

Car cranks but will not start

What is year--make--model and engine size? If it cranks good but won't start, have a helper crank it, while you visually check for spark at the spark plugs, where applicable. If spark everywhere, use a gage and check proper fuel pressure. Also, check for fuel injector pulse, where applicable.

Check for applicable trouble codes. If the vehicle is obd2, to check codes yourself, at the least, you need an obd2 code reader.

Check for an rpm signal.

Car cranks but wont start

It probably won't be anything simple. It should have generated some codes by now so I would get an OBD2 code reader and follow the instructions and find out what the codes are and post back.

99 sable won't start, replaced battery, starter, alternator, but still wont even crank. code reader also said map sensor so it was reset worked for alittle but now nothing

If the car does not have a security system, I would check for voltage at the starter from the battery and from the key switch.
The power from the key switch goes thru the neutral safety switch before getting to the starter.

Car wont start

Since this engine is fully electronically controlled the first thing that must be done is to read the fault codes of the engine control computer and check the fuel pressure from the electric pump. You will need an OBD2 system code reader and a fuel pressure test gauge.

Obd 2 connector does not work with any code scanner

HI there....Check to see if the code reader is a CAN OBD 2 code reader. If it is only OBD2 , that may be the problem. In 2003 Some vehicle manufacturers ( ford,Gm,Mazda and Saab) began using a new computer protocol called Controller Area Network (CAN) with the OBD2 and if your vehicle is CAN OBD 2 the simple OBD2 code reader will not work.Contact your local dealer to determine if you vehicle is CAN or not or find a code reader that is CAN OBD2 capable. Hope this helps you out
