The best way to do this is to put battery voltage back into the system through the cigarette lighter. You can buy a battery charger at an auto parts store or walmart that is designed to charge the battery through the cigarette lighter. It will have a plug on it that insert right into the cigarette lighter. Let it charge a little, and try the button again. It will pop right open.

Battery dead. how can I get trunk open.

You can't unless it has a key hole. If you put jump leads on the battery or connect a battery charger it will open straight away.

Here is a good tutorial that I've used before. You'll need another battery or a charger to power the switch:

2001 porsche carrera dead battery cant open the Hood?

Use jumper cables. In the fuse box (interior of the car near the pedals to the left) is a booklet with instructions. You need to slide out one of the "fuses" (it's not a fuse, but a red thing that you pull out) and connect the positive terminal of a jumper cable to it. The negative goes connected to the door latch (on the car, not door). Connect the other end to a running car's battery or a charger and you can use the regular button to open the hood and access the baterry compartment from there.

You have a fuse box on the drive side next to your clutch petal, pull that cover off.
I have load a picture so you can connect a 12 volt battery, so you can pop the hood. this is how you can bypass the system
Let me know if this help you.d3d34d3.jpg

1972 Porsche Electrical problem

Odd. In 1772 models, the flasher unit was electromechanical and required a load of 42 watts to flash at the correct speed. Probably poor earth or broken wire.
