There are three probable causes that may result to overheating one inadequate circulation of coolant within the cooling system. The radiator is clogged with dirt some stems are closed.try to flush the radiator using rad flushing fluid. Second improper bleeding of trap air within the cooling system. Third the water pump blades are worn out inadequate circulation of coolant.

Overheating still after replacing top gasket and water pump and lastly i remove the thermostat, wait could be wrong?


It sounds like the water pump is ok, however If the fan is operating properly you may have a partially obstructed radiator. That can be cleaned and flushed to see if that helps. You will need to replace the antifreeze at that point.

Overheating. Recently done motor over. New thermostat and thermostat and sensor. Can it be the water pump that is faulty?


did you recon the rad it may be corroded all ways replace rad when you recon an engine but a handy way to see if the pump is working is to see if the water is returning into the header tank

Sounds like a leaking head gasket. The head gasket can allow coolant to leak into the cylinders, and compression to leak into the cooling system.

Guys I've got a problem with a ford bantam 1.6i 2003 model rocam engine, its overheating even though the cylinder head was skim but it still overheating. please assist!


Check what head gasket was used . I suspect that an after market gasket was used. If that is the case there will be holes in the block and head thet have no matching holes in the gasket thereby causing the problem

see this causes and remedies, you can have overheating by internal leak or external leak:
1) transmission oil cooler is leaking , 2) loose cylinder head gasket 3) engine block cracke 4) cracked cylinder head or engine block bore 50 oirl cooler is (inside radiator) is cracker.

2) external: a) leak at the hose connection b) water pump c) core plugsd) thermostat housing e) cilynder head.f) gasket cylinder head.

Engine overheating 2004 kia rio changed thermostat, lots of antifreeze, still overheating


Then the problem is the water pump or a cracked Head, blown head gasket or cracked cylinder wall causing over pressure in the cooling system. Replace the water pump first then consider the other problems. If you do a compression check and have compression on all cylinders but extremely high compression on 1 or 2 then the problem is the Head gasket, head or Cylinder wall being cracked.

overheating can damaged cylinder head gasket resulting to low or no engine compression.coolant may enter inside the bore.check compression in all cylinders and traces of coolant on sparkplugs.compression of 100psi is still acceptable.

Overheating when driving no mixing of the coolant and oil


The three most likely thing's cause overheating are faulty thermostat,electric fan or clogged radiator. Only at has been overheat so much it boils dry that it will cause engine trouble. Most common problem's are blown cylinder head gasket or a cracked cylinder head.
mixing coolant and water depends on where the gasket has blown or head is cracked. You will first need to check if it actually is overheating. The reason is. If the head is cracked or gasket blown then you can get a false boiling which is compresion from the cylinders blows through the crack in the head or gasket causing the coolant to blow out of the radiator cap.Fill the radiator to the top leave the cap off then start the engine.If the water blows out then you will need to remove the cylinder head check the gasket is ok. If its damaged replace if not get the head checked for crack's. If no water blow's when you start it check the thermostat is working properly. To check the thermostat put it a in a saucepan cover it with water bring the water to the boil. It should open before the water boil's but near boiling-point. If its ok then start the engine again leave it running until it boils and check the fan is running. If that's ok then its radiator problem. Their is no way to check if the radiator is ok you will need to get a new one. One last point. If the cylinder head or gasket are faulty it was caused by overheating so by just fixing the cylinder head problem is not a cure it will overheat again. Check the three things I mentioned at the begining and told you how to check them. Hope this help's. Cheer's
