The codes you describe indicate that there could be a problem developing in the transmition with the exception of the P0454 code which is a problem with the evap system.
You should probable take it to a shop you trust as their are some who will throw out a bunch of code numbers knowing most people wouldn't know what they mean and charge them an outrageous price for a simple repair.
I recommend that people purchase an inexpensive code reader and read the book that comes with it, then when they have a problem they will know if they are about to be taken to the cleaners or not. You can purchase a code reader for around $50 at most discount stores and it could be the best money you've spent in a long time.

erratic compression indicates a cam lobe problem or cam follower problem
with that many miles on it , the cam shaft will have wear on it but the rest of the motor will have considerable wear including possible ring problems on the numbered pistons
If the body is rust free consider a new -out of the box engine as a cheap plug to stop the repair waste of money

My van won't start after driving a short distance, it will start again after 3 to 5 minutes but then will act like it's going to stall while I'm driving. What's wrong?

Hi Greg, I'm AL the owner of Big As Auto Repair in St Charles Mo

Greg, I read your complete message, but nowhere did I see that you replaced the Cam Sensor. The EGR will cause it to stall at stops but usually will not prevent it from restarting. I would try replacing the Cam Sensor before anything else. If you should need further assistance go to my website by clicking here: Auto Repair

I have a 2006 Chrysler 300 V6 Base Model...I'm getting the P0406 Error with the check engine light on. Can anyone give further guidance or how much it costs to relace EGR Valve?

Take your car to the nearest auto parts store and ask them to read and erase your trouble codes. As soon as you throw another code get them to read it again to verify which code is alerting you. Remember that just replacing a part is not always a solution. A egr is not too expensive and easily changed by someone handy. Buy a haynes repair manual for around $25. It's a good investment and will walk you through most repairs. It will also give you a basic understanding of what could be wrong with your car so that you will npt be taken advantage of by an unscrupulous mechanic .

I have a 2006 town & county lx and the check engine light came on and the transmission was stuck in second gear. Took it to the shop and they replaced all the wires to the main wiring harness and...

I hate to say it, but if that wasn't a Chrysler dealer that you took it to originally, or an experienced Chrysler Mechanic, they may have done more harm than good. If it was a Chrysler dealer, take it back, and give them one more chance to make it right. If they don't rectify it, call Chrysler owner relations. If it was not, take a copy of your work-order from other place with you, to a dealer and ask for a proper diagnosis, and if they have any idea if previous work done, was the cause of it all, or any.

Engine warning light on Mazda MPV 2002

There seem to be 4 sensors along the way in the air intake and emissions system.

My Check Engine light indicated a bad sensor 1, bank 2 code (I think).

I had my mechanic replace the sensor that was indicated as faulty... cost = $191.

Then the Check Engine light came on again (with a different code), and I had to leave the van with him all day.

Cost to replace and install that sensor = $115.

My advice: if the Check Engine light stays on *AND* your vehicle is riding rough, get it fixed.

Otherwise, put a piece of tape over that Check Engine light and save a couple hundred dollars!

Hope this helps, I do trust my mechanic fully.

Our Mazda MPV 2003 vans check engine light came on so we took it into the shop. They just called and said they needed to run further diagnostics on it, but they believe it has a vacuum leak and oil leack....

if your mechanic diagnose the vehicle ask for a print out of the results so you can see whats the real problem if the check engine light was on that means that a sensor is giving some kind of problem

Check engine light is on my 1998 ram van 3500

Bring it to a parts store, most will scan for engine trouble codes for free. They will plug a hand held scan tool into the vans diagnostic port (under the dash) and 'read' codes stored in the van's computer. They can tell you what the codes mean, and suggest how to fix it. If you have any further questions at that time, post them here with the code #'s. Good luck. Curt
