1 Answer

Well i took it to a transmission shop and they checked the computer and the only code that came up was improper gear ratio so they cleared the codes and still nothing they are telling me that they are going to have to pull the tranny out but it is "shifting" into a overdrive kinda the rpm's go down about 500 less than what they are when they are in 2nd. I'm really confused please help

Incorrect gear ratios can be a sensor problem, make sure you have it checked before you get it to a tranny shop. alot of them just wanna change a tranny to do the job.

Both error codes you have are transmission related. P0736 is an error for reverse has wrong gear ratio. P0700 is a general transmission problem code

Code P0736, P0731, P0720, P0700

Well code 700 is a generic code that means there is a problem with the transmission or the control module.
Code 736 is an incorrect gear ratio for reverse, code 731 is incorrect ratio in first gear, and 720 is the code for the speed sensor which involves the engine computer as well as the speedo.
Its possible the speed sensor is causing the other codes.
I would have a shop check the speed sensor circuit, clear the codes, and see how many come back then proceed with more testing as needed.

2006 sebring touring Error codes

I would start with the fluid level and condition. 731 & 732 are improper gear ratio for first and second gear. 720 is faulty output speed sensor, which makes sense with improper gear ratios.

I have a 2001 vovlo s80 with the codes p1618 p0705 po733 how can i fix

PO705 is Transmission Range Sensor Circuit Malfunction. PO733 is Incorrect 3rd Gear Ration Information. P1618 means that the ECU and the TCM are not communicating properly. PO705 & PO733 can be related to P1618. Check the wiring going to the transmission. Look for a pinched wire from the car being put on a rack or possibly an accident you may have had recently. If you can find no problems with the wiring or connections then it is time to see a professional transmission expert. It may just be that the transmission has an internal problem.

Code p0734 I just replaced eng. and trans. now have this code.

Engine Light ON (or Service Engine Soon Warning Light)
- Incorrect transmission shifting Possible causes - Low transmission fluid level
- Dirty transmission fluid
- Shift solenoids
- Transmission mechanical problems
- Transmission hydraulic control circuit Tech notes Start by inspecting the transmission fluid level and condition, and change fluid if necessary. When is the code detected? P0734 is detected when A/T cannot be shifted to the 4th gear position even if electrical circuit is good. P0734 NISSAN Description This diagnosis monitors actual gear position by checking the torque converter slip ratio calculated by Transmission Control Module (TCM) as follows:

Torque converter slip ratio = A x C/B

A: Output shaft revolution signal from revolution sensor
B: Engine speed signal from Engine Control Module (ECM)
C: Gear ratio determined as gear position which TCM supposes

If the actual gear position is higher than the position (4th) supposed by TCM, the slip ratio will be more than normal. In case the ratio exceeds the specified value, TCM judges this diagnosis malfunction.

Ford trauras trouble code 732 - was told transmission code 732 was being produced, what does a code 732 say?

P0732 FORD - Incorrect Second Gear Ratio
Transmission in second gear and the ECM detected an incorrect gear ration. This diagnosis monitors actual gear position by checking the torque converter slip ratio calculated by Transmission Control Module (TCM) as follows:

Torque converter slip ratio = A x C/B

A: Output shaft revolution signal from revolution sensor
B: Engine speed signal from Engine Control Module (ECM)
C: Gear ratio determined as gear position which TCM supposes

If the actual gear position is higher than the position (2nd) supposed by TCM, the slip ratio will be more than normal. In case the ratio exceeds the specified value, TCM judges this diagnosis malfunction.

Symptoms
- Engine Light ON (or Service Engine Soon Warning Light)
- Incorrect transmission shifting

Possible causes
- Low transmission fluid level
- Dirty transmission fluid
- Shift solenoids

My 1998 elantra codes po734 what does it mean

Hi:
P0734 is a transmission code, and you usually have some sort of driveability issues along with it. If your transmission fluid is full, It is best to have it checked out by a transmission shop

97 T+C Speed sensor Throttle Position Sensor or Replace Tranny

these are trans codes for spd sensor and gear ratio sensors. has this trans been replaces at any time?
For some reason there are a number of different transmissions that have gone into these vans and have different gear ratios. alot of trans shops put the wrong on in that does fit but improper gear ratios. or just hopfully the sensor did go bad. they usually recommend rebuild due to being half in the trans any ways.

umm i dont know what your asking except if this may need a rebuild? I would say ask whats all included in a rebuild. all trans shops seem to differ in what they call a rebuild but all seem, to have about that same price. these chrysler transmission also seem to have alot of random pressure solenoid and solenoid pack and valve body problems.
if you want shoot back a response in what they all do and ill give you my opinion on if its a fair price for what is begine replaced. get written on paper what is replaced. not verbal.
Good luck
