1998 GRAND CHEROKEE BLOWS ON DEFROST ALONE

Hi I have a 2002 JGC ltd and it is most likely your dampeners or louvers located behind your temp controls (inside the dash) for driver and passenger sides that control the direction of air flow from air outside in, circulation, heat to windshield, centre and or to floor etc. I had a friend that had heat only to the passenger side and cold air blowing to driver side. He took it in and they replaced stuck dampeners and it was not cheap. Sounds like the tipical problem with heaters.

Heater blowing cold air, indicates towards low or no coolant or the coolant flow is getting obstructed or the heater core is clogged or hot to cold moving flap/ door is stuck in cold mode. There are many possibilities, that needs to be checked. 1998 Jeep Wrangler not blowing hot air. Fan is blowing cold air. Suggestions?

your heater hose or heater core could be plug, or your flap that opens inside of the heater housing may not be opening like it should. It operates off a vacum line, check all your vacum lines going into your heater housing.
good luck

The heat in my 1992 Jeep Wangler is not working.

The only reason it won't blow hot air is because the water is not getting to the heater core. Check to see if you have a heater control valve in one of the two lines to the heater core. If so check to be sure that is is opening and closing. If it won't open then you get no water flow in to the heater core.

How often has the coolant been changed? My only guess is that it hasn't and the hoses and the heater core are plugged up with goo and a flush is needed
