This is not a hard answer but I couldn't find it anywhere either so I figured it out.
On the drivers side of the vehicle between the door and the rear wheel, just under the vehicle (outside of the frame) you will see the cable. Locate the nut (it's on a lolong screw-the front of the screw is facing the front of the vehicle) About 6 inches toward the read of that screw attach a vise grip. Then rotate the nut with a 12mm box wrench and shorten the cable. It takes a lot of turns so after every 10 or so check the parking brake pedal. If you are going in the right direction it should stop further fromn the floor each time. The manual says adjust to the point the pedal travels 1/2 way to the floor.Tip- Lube the nut and screw before starting. The nut can be rusted on and may snap if you try too hard. Mine was nice and easy to turn and now the pedal stops 1/2 way to the floor.

Thanks JD, I actually did that and stopped because it does take so many turns. I'm about due for some new brakes and I know that will definitely solve the problem.

SOURCE: Mazda 323f sport 1999. How do you adjust parking brake?

Where the handbrake lever is,it will be covered by a boot of some sort.Peel this back and beside the lever will be either a rod with a nut on it,or it will have a recess for a screwdriver.with the h/brake off,do the adjustment by tightening it.When it's right, the h/brake should have to be pulled so 7 'clicks' can be heard.Hope this helps

Adjust your service brake first and then, if need be, adjust the handbrake.
To adjust the handbrake, look for the threaded rod, which should be under the left side of the vehicle, about midway. Hold the rod from spinning, and tighten up the nut.

1998 chevy blazer when we replaced brake booster and now it will not shift out of park whenits started

Not sure I am following your question, or maybe questions.
If you can not shift out of park with the key on, the brake switch on the pedal may be faulty or out of adjustment.
If the warning light is on, it could be the fluid level sensor in the master cylinder, or the parking brake switch.
If you have no brakes after you try bleeding the master cylinder, the rod inside the booster may not be connected correctly. If you replaced the master cylinder along with the booster, you would need to bench bleed the master before installing it in the truck.

How do I adjust the hand brake on a 2001 chevrolet blazer

I would just replace the park brake shoes in the rear im sure it is time. and this does not mean rear pads you have to remove the rear rotors to get to them if you adjust them then have to replace them you have to start all over any way with the adjustments and they are not expensive to purchase. it is just as much trouble to adjust as it is to replace them.

I'm replacing my rear brake shoes on my 2001 chevy venture,i've assembled new parts and what has been happening is when i push on the brake pedal the adjuster actuator and actuator spring keep popping off...

Parking brake lever on leading shoe (end of retractor spring in its hole on the leading shoe). Make sure the the adjuster screw assembly is engaged properly with the leading shoe (also, engaged with the parking brake lever). Adjuster actuator installed on the trailing shoe (also, engaged with the adjuster screw assembly). After inserting the retractor spring in its hole on the trailing shoe, insert actuator spring in its hole (just below wheel cylinder) in leading shoe and stretch across and connect it to the adjuster actuator. Adjust star wheel to get shoes close to drum. Reinstall drum (shoes close with no rub). Reinstall wheel. Push brake pedal for final adjustment. Test forward. Test Backwards. If everything is in the correct place, nothing should pop off. I hope you have a before picture. Haynes manual has good pictures. I own a 2002 Pontiac Montana, but a family member has taken it out of town. My info is from the Haynes manual. I replaced the brake shoes a couple years ago.

No,I'd check the rear Brake Shoes first. There either worn out or your self adjusters are not working properly!
