HEY Cassey;

here's your answer....

first when you po the hood you will find two white plastic bottles. One is going to have a bluish fluid in it. That's the window wash fluid. The other is more yellow to green looking and has markings on its side saying hot and col levels. top up that bottle to the level indicator depending on if the engine is hot or cold. Hot=has been running 10-20 minutes.bon chance

you should be able to fill coolant to full level , also resivor and light willl go off, unless the sensor gets stuck or is bad, try taping on resivor see if it goes off may be stuck.

you have remove tranny lines,at bottom open to drain coolant, put something under to catch coolant.remove house,move anything on the to pull out.

the thermostat will be where the upper radiator hose dives into the motor, simply drain the coolant from the system, remove hose, and thermostat housing, replace thermostat and re assemble

How do i bleed the coolant system on a pontiac g6


Most cars will self bleed. You can help the process by running motor for a few minutes turn off add more coolant if needed and restart. Repeat several times. Also with heater on.

Where is the temperature guage located under the hood in my pontiac g6. I can not find it to replace.


The temperature gauge is actually a needle that read a range of Hot/Cold on the dash instrument cluster. If you are referring to the coolant temperature sensor, the location depends on the engine size. Post the engine size and we'll answer it better.
