Electric promblem: The battery is being drained.

Electric promblem: The battery is being drained. The radio lights are flashing and there's a clicking sound in the car. There's no computer avaiable here in Sitka, AK or around this area to plug it into to find out what is draining the battery. WE've brought it into the shop and no one can figure it out. All the fuses has been pulled and battery has been replaced. Does anyone have any idea on this issue?

Red light on radio keeps flashing and battery drains overnight on 2002 sonoma gls

That red light is on many vehicles and does not drain a battery that fast. You probably have another draw on the system. I recently had a car that the battery would go down in a few days, found out it was coming from the Onstar system malfunctioning.

2008 f250 has no electric power to ignition, lights, radio, horn. nothing

make sure they charged all the way up, then check for corrosion inside the cables. you'll have to strip away some of the outer insulation, so do it by the battery post.

Battery being drained over night

Check to be sure that your hood light is turning off when you close the hood. Seriously. (Common problem.)
Remove the bulb from the hood light to see if the problem persists. If the battery no longer drains, replace the hood light assembly.
Also, run the car for a short while, then turn the car off. Leave the car off for an hour, then feel the back of the alternator. If it is hot, the diodes are bad in the alternator.

My battery dies but it checks ok 12 volt when the car is off and between 13 and 14 when on but if it sits for a few hours it wont even turn over and all the lights just start to flash

Sounds like a current drain, probably something you can't see. Start by removeing the glovebox light & boot light. If still happens hook an amp metere up between the batry terminal & batry wire with key off & check if there is any drain. Note: you will need your radio code if your radio is security radio

My battery has been checked and is fine, but the battery will go dead within approximately 48 hours if the car is not started and run. I checked all of the draw from the battery on each fuse and the #9...

TO CHECK FOR A BATTERY DRAIN. TURN OFF EVERY SWITCH IN THE CAR. CLOSE THE GLOVE COMPARTMENT. MAKE SURE THE LITE IN THERE IS GOING OUT. OPEN THE HOOD CLOSE ALL OF THE DOORS. MAKE SURE ALL OF THE COURTESY LIGHTS ARE GOING OUT. DISCONNECT ANY UNDER HOOD LIGHTS. DISCONNECT NEG. BATTERY CABLE. USE A 12 VOLT TEST LIGHT, FASTEN ONE END TO THE NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL, FASTEN THE OTHER END TO A METAL PART OF THE MOTOR. IF THE LIGHT COMES ON, THERE IS A BATTERY DRAIN. NO LIGHT, NO DRAIN. IF THE LIGHT IS ON, PULL EACH FUSE, BIG & SMALL, ONE AT A TIME, OUT OF THE FUSEBOX THAT IS NEAR THE BATTERY. WHICHEVER FUSE MAKES THE LIGHT GO OUT IS CAUSING THE DRAIN. IF THE LIGHT STAYS ON THROUGHOUT THE FUSE PULLING, DISCONNECT THE ALTERNATOR. IF THERE IS SOMETHING WRONG IN THE ALTERNATOR, IT CAN DRAIN THE BATTERY WHILE SITTING STILL, EVEN THOUGH IT IS CHARGING THE BATTERY WHILE YOU ARE DRIVING. GOOD LUCK

Radio cuts out when driving --only works when in neutral or parkk power steering pump cuts out--windows (electric ) start flashing and will only work in park--seatbelt light flashes sometimes.

I would suggest disconnecting the battery, I do not know if you will have to enter a code for the radio, but this will reset everything and fix you problem, it will only take a minute then you can reconnect the battery

My car is draining the battery. battery is new and altenator is good.can it be a bad belt causing that promblem? this will happen about five days that the car will be working good

The belt can slip if the tensioner is weak .If you here a squeal when you accelerate, its a good possibility. The Alternator can drain the battery, even if it is charging the battery. If a light is on when the car is parked, such as a door ajar, glove box light on,trunk light on,any thing that's on a hot citcuit not controlled with the ignition key, will drain the battery in a few hours or overnite,or a day or so.
