Sounds like a problem with frame ground. Check the ground wires from the frame, there is more to the ground than just he cable from the battery.

After all the hassle it was the coil pack that was causing the problem. $20 and 10 minutes to fix!

I've been having the same problem but it seems to come and go. Changing plugs and wires only helped for a short while. Service engine light has been on and giving a code for mass air sensor and running lean. Does this mean I need to put a new sensor in?

2001 Acura CL 3.2. Hesitation on acceleration.?just tuned up with new plug wires. any suggestions? Only code or 40 2 sensor bank 1 sensor 1 and bank 2 sensor 1.

You said you changed the plug wires did you change the plugs too? My daughter has a 97 CL and when her plugs get fouled it causes hesitation as well as problems starting up. If you haven't changed those do that first. Is that code correct at 40 or is it 401 ? You can take it to autozone and they can tell you what it means or the correct codes.

Have code P0304 code , it hesitates when accelerating

9 times out of 10 thats a bad spark plug. Cheap place to start with a tune up if you dont want to have it scanned more specifically.

1999 lincoln..150,000,..will hesitate, bump when accelerating, thru out driving range, check engine light on . could this need fuel injection cleaning? or spark plugs . just got car, not sure when last...

I will suggest you to stop by your local mechanic or Advance Auto/ Autozone if you are in the North America area. They will pull all the codes out. You might need a full Tune up as well. Good Luck!

When i push on the gas, it shakes and hesitates and wont gain speed.

  1. First check the spark plugs and make sure it is in good condition
  2. Checked also the high tension wires make sure it is not worn out.
  3. Checked also the fuel filter and make sure it is not clog and if its full of elements inside the fuel filter replace it with the new one.
Feel free to reply to this solution for further question. Cheers.

Hesitation on acceleration

Try giving it a tune up. It could be a faulty plug wire, spark plug, clogged air filter or clogged fuel filter.
Other possibities could include bad gasoline or a clogged fuel injector. If the tune up doesn't try adding fuel injector cleaner and octane boost to the gas.
