Question about 2001 Chevrolet Monte Carlo
This could be one of two things, first, on some vehicles, the electric cooler fan in the engine bay continues to run for a short period after the ignition has been turned off, or the second is a ignition timing fault, ie ignition set to far advanced wich will cause the engine to run on for a few seconds after being switched off, depending on the age of your vehicle, i would opt for the first one if it is a relativly new vehicle, second one if it is an old vehicle with a standard distributer hope this helps
