A lot of work will need not just engine but trans than will have to rewire- -computer change-over-also transmission redo yours not compatible - motor mounts, trans mounts [weld in new ones] -exhaust reroute, all sensors to be compatible to new-------look in a salvage yard or a u pull it for a compatible engine usually less than $200 pulled and ready to be put in yard can tell what engines and years that will fit yours

Making a very differant motor fit is very hard, then trying to make all the support systems work is very very hard!
a round peg in a square hole kind of hard.

Car starts and run 20 seconds then shut off

lots of causes for that. which engine the 2.0L? (8 used world wide)
takes me 1 to 10 tests to find most failures.
first is to scan it, to see if there serious, problems with the throttle by wire system (motor driven throttle)
this new tech, prevents grandma from running over things, when idle controls are bad. (read, toyota 1billion suit loss....)
cant fix cars today with out a scan too. its not going to happen.
unless you win at slot machines every pull. (magic luck at guessing)
you might check to see if the throttle valve is packed junk
and clean that off. (blocked open it might be)
vacuum hoses fell off.
cracked vacuum servo diaphragms.
cracked brake booster diaphragms, ( all cause vacuum leaks)
there are lots of other causes.
mechical in engine,
EFI sensors
and more. and lots of tests. to prove them out.
but why not scan it ,first. (check fuses too)

What motors will fit in a 1977 toyota landcrusier

I would recommend engines that are made by Toyota. B, F, H and L engines should fit in. If your existing engine does not belong to these family of engines then you may have to change your engine support mounts on the truck.

Hi i have a 2-ce engine and cannot extract bolt from crankshaft

I'd guess that your intending to replace the timimg belt and the engine is turning whenever you try to loosen the pulley bolt.
  • Your best and easiest way of going about the job is to remove the starter motor.
  • Disconnect the battery.
  • Remove the cables from the starter motor (The thin one for the solenoid and the thick cable for the HT power.
  • Remove the starter motor retaining bolts.
  • Remove the starter motor.
  • From here we can take two directions
  • a) Get a friend to help you, who should lock the fly wheel with a large flat screw driver by locking the rotation by placing the screw driver in the ring gear, while you loosen that bolt up front.
  • b) Get a toothed clamp made up that will fit into the ring gear and lock the fly wheel when fitted using one of the starter motor retaining bolts. This requires a job handed over to a machine shop. (a bit expensive for a single job)
  • When fitting the pulley bolt remember it should be tightened to a torque of 98nm
You have to watch out that the screw driver doen't slip while loosening or tightening
Have a good weekend

Belt diagram 1997 toyota corolla? alternator belt replacement?

The 97 Corolla has three accessory belts. The alternator belt is the one you see when you look down on the passenger side standing near the front of the engine compartment. If fits over the alternator and the engine pulley. The belt beneath it is the a/c belt (if the car has a/c). It fits over the engine pulley and the a/c compressor. The power steering belt is toward the rear of the engine compartment, on the same side. It fits around the engine pulley and the power steering pump.

Replacing the alternator belt is not too difficult. Standing in front of the car and facing towards the rear, loosen the locking bolt under the right side of the alternator. Then loosen the alternator hinge bolt on top of the alternator. Now you are ready to loosen the alternator belt tensioner adjustment bolt, accessed under the alternator from the front. Turn the tensioner until the old belt is loose enough to remove, then turn it further so that the new belt will go on easily. Replace the belt and re-tension until you have about 1/4 in. to 1/8 in. of play in the belt, tighten the lock bolt and the hinge bolt, and run the engine. If the belt squeals it means you need more tension, but do not overtension. Recheck it after a few days.

I have a 94 toyota 4runner that needs an engine. theres someone selling a 98 4runner engine, will it fit in my 94 toyota 4runner?

it depends, is it a 4cyl or 6cyl truck? If its a 4cyl, its a 22RE engine, any engine from 84 till I think 99 or 2000 will fit, the big thing is the wiring, if you just need the block and head, it should work. bolt everything else up and slap it in. should take about 4 or 5 hours depending on how much you know about engines. If its a 6cyl...your on your own.
