I HAVE 1995 CHEVY LUMINA CAR. MOTOR WONT TURN OVER WITHOUT CROSSING OVER STARTER. I HAVE DASH LIGHTS, HEADLIGHTS, RADIO, ETC. ONCE CROSS OVER STARTER IT STARTS AND RUNS GREAT UNTIL U TURN IT OFF AGAIN, THEN U HAVE TO CROSS OVER STARTER AGAIN WITH SOMEONE TURNING SWITCH TO START. WHAT IS WRONG?

Testimonial: "THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR GIVING US AN IDEA WHERE TO START LOOKING."
It could also be corrosion on the battery cables at the starter end for positive and the chassis or block for the negative.
Cruddy cables will normally let lower current loads (lights, etc.) operate because their current draw is a lot less than that of the starter which is in the range of 125-200 amperes. This means that a resistance of 0.1 Ohms (0.1 Ohms X 200 A=20 volt drop) is enough to starve the starter but still measure OK with the average multimeter.
