Have you checked the air flow sensor? and idle control valve? other possibility is the EGR valve.

What causes my 2001 mitsubishi GDI car to be firing only on number 2 and 3 cylinders

Check to see if #1 &4 use a common coil pack. If so, = likely culprit.

It is under the hood, on the driver's side, rear engine area, driver's side of the master cylinder, mounted in between the fuel line.

I have 2001 carisma 1.8 gdi with a trouble code p1221, what is tis, thanks

It is an issue which concerns the throttle and the throttle body. Have the pedal position also checked.. normally this code is also associated with high reving then going into gear.

Programming Key Fob

I have just bought a Shogun Sport Equippe TD, I have not taken delivery yet but I do own a Carisma and the way you program that remote key is to turn on the ignition for 10 sec +'s then switch off and press the close button, this causes the door locks to respond.

Mitsubishi Carisma 1997

its a very common fault with the GDi engine, normally first shows a fault after 60k miles. Fault will also make the engine feel slightly juddery on occasions whilst cruising... either/both Accelerator body or Cam sensor are the usual culprit. Both can be rather expensive.
