Small socket maybe 10mm to remove the top plate and the 5/8 deepwell with a 5" extention to remove the plugs....P.S. anti seize is your friend when putting in the new plugs.....You can usually buy a small pack of it at the auto store for 1.99, also be sure to gap your plugs can use the gapping tool at the auto store the man. spec i believe are 0043 thousands

You need to remove the fuel tank form the car, it is held in place by two steel straps and of course the filler neck and the wiring and fuel lines. You do need to have the car as high as poss of the ground and on safety jack stands. You will need a GM fuel line release tool, which you can buy at most auto parts stores like Napa. You will need a helper to lower the tank since there is no way to easily drain it if it is full. BE SAFE, THERE IS AN EXTREME FIRE HAZARD HERE, ALWAYS USE SAFETY STANDS TO SUPPORT THE CAR ONCE RAISED, NEVER A BUMPER JACK OF ANY KIND.

if you already have the code you can enter AutoZone if there is one in your area and they can break that down for you in lame mans terms .Problems you explain are cause you are run to rich in other words to much gas what color are the sparkplugs at time of removale if they are black your haveing problems with ignition these cars are electronic so they have to be modular tuned with a computer Chevrolet can help but it might be a little costly
