Replace your breaker in the breaker box, and I wouldn't use these lights till its fixed. Kill the lights, kick the breaker to the off position This is the first thing that happens before an electrical house fire.

Engine not starting

First thing to do is check your battery terminals. Make sure thay are clean and tight. Next place a voltmeter across your battery and attempt to start the engine. If the battery voltage drops below 11 volts, the battery is bad. (if no volt meter, turn on the headlights and attempt to start. If the lights go very's the battery has failrd.) You are bound to have a home battery service in your area, but make certain first.

Electrical short

Your problem is pointing to the alternator. Since you say the alternator is only a year old, the I would check the tension on the belt (deflection should be about 1/2 an inch), and the belt itself. Your problem most likely lies in either the belt, belt tensioner (if applicable), or alternator.

Yesterday when I went to work the battery and brake light were on when I got off the exit to get to work the battery and brake lights went off. Approxmitaly 12 hours later when I started the car to go home...

Try a day time running light modual, these things are notorious for messing up,and since they are supposed to work when the car is charging it seems like the logical solution.

I was driving my 1995 renault espace when the headlights and back lights suddenly went dim then the electric windows and the electrics went. I kept driving till I got home then switched the engine off- now...

It sounds like your alternator needs to be looked at. It could just be a loose belt but it is more likely that something has burnt out inside it and it will need to be replaced. The battery will have to be charged up before you can accurately measure the voltage output on the alternator. That should be 13.5 to 14.2 if it is properly charging. Hope this helps.
